I want off the Cousins ride
I do, he was terrible today. This game should have been over mid 4th if we could have executed. I get that he's tough, but damn man you make it way harder than it has to be. White looked good today at 95% less the cost. I would love to see what other QB's could do with the weapons this guy has had for the last 5 years. It's who Cousins is, sometimes very good-sometimes very bad. Like this team for the last 5 years. Great for half a game, terrible for the other half.
The questions I have are, when will it ever change with this guy? Does he need a perfect situation to win a Super Bowl? And how do we get off this ride?
I do think that Cousins is clearly off lately and he is
clearly taking a lot of hits several weeks in a row. I think this is on O’Connell to help him out
a bit. It kind of feels like we’ve got
our one offense that we run out there, and since our players are so good, we
just haven’t had to put any effort into tweaking it at all. I feel like they should really be emphasizing
the run game more and plays that get the ball out of his hand quickly. We have the skill position talent to get open
quickly, so I feel like that should be on the menu for times when our OLine isn’t
as steadfast as it should be.
@"MaroonBells" said: That was the worst I've seen Cousins play since the Cleveland game last year. He couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle. But not every bad game needs to turn into an existential debate. Every QB has bad days. Rodgers has had several. Brady, Allen, Mahomes.
Exactly what I was thinking during the game :)
I think all the chains are weighing on Kirk. He should play unchained but then I don't know if the kid in the crowd will get bullied just going shirtless?
I don't think I need to express my opinion on Kirk on every Kirk thread so I will just cut to the facts:
For better or worse Kirk is our QB for the next two years and maybe more.
Discussion should start about a succession plan this offseason and I want us looking very closely at the first round QB class.
If we’re handing out a who’s on a milk carton this year awards. Lets add Cook to it. Dude hasn’t done anything all year save the Bills game.

Then I posted his 21 vs 22 to-date:
============================
Edit Interesting to compare vs 21:
22: 198/927/4.7/7 tds, 28 receptions/157/1 td
21: 249/1159/4.7/6 tds, 34 receptions/224/0 td
Doesnt look like he's dropped off much vs 21, I would have thought with KOC that the receiving would be much higher vs 21
Before this year: Kirk sucks. The way to judge a quarterback is by wins, not stats. This year: Kirk sucks. Yeah, we keep winning, but not by enough points.
Next year: this could turn into a fun game. Lets play Why Kirk Sucks, 2023 edition.
I am going to go with, last year at this time we had 10 wins. He's obviously spent.

What great about this team is KOC isn't going anywhere. Our playcaller will be the same for the foreseeable future.
Heck, I'd be willing to bet Donatell doesn't go anywhere either. Get some youth on D and see where that takes us.

you're gonna get the youth, but with minimal draft picks and no cap space (especially after another KC extension (I am expecting an offseason rework that add a couple more years) that kicks more dead cap on future years ) what will that youth look like? We added youth this year and have about 100 snaps total between 5 of our top 6 draft picks. as fun as this season has been to watch, I am not overly confident in our spending of late and see some rough years coming fairly soon, they can fix it pretty quickly, but will they?
