So the 49ers were really going to throw the season away?

By starting Lance? With a team that talented? WTF. Seriously. Jimmy G isn't a world beater by any stretch, but Lance is raw like sushi. They're damn lucky that Jimmy was recovering earlier this summer or he'd have been traded and then they'd be screwed.

Right not, they are 4-4 in a very winnable division. They look like they will contend for the NFC when its all said and done. And they were THIS close to it being a throw away.

Yup, it was pretty unbelievable they were going that route.

49'ers are not a team I would want to face in the playoffs - at all.

They are banking on the health of Jimmy G and CMC.  That seems dicey at this point.

Regardless, there is a lot of talent on that team but I believe we can hang with them.  Their corners are still weak and our best (Darrisaw) can neutralize theirs (Bosa).  Prefer to play them at home so . . .  go Geno Smith!

(I still would have traded them Kirk and a 2nd for Lance and a 1st, I think Lance will be a stud in the NFL on the right team)
