ISJ out again...
High ankle sprain. This guy is the Anthony Davis of tight ends and there's almost zero chance we retain him after this season. Mundt has been better anyways...
I was hoping it wasn't serious...
Bummer!

About time to officially say ISJ is glass. Ridiculous
Geez maybe we do look TE today with the trade deadline although Gisicki rumors have calmed down and not sure of anybody else possibly being available. Plus Gisiki was under used but in the last few weeks he has 3 TD's so I don't know why the Dolphis would even entertain trading him unless they want too much and it is just a dangle :)
Sidenote: Conklin is playing extremely well for the Jets. We put out chips in the ISJ rebound basket again this offseason.
I'm very happy for Johnny Mundt and to see him snag his first TD. He's got a real opportunity here to grab this thing and run with it. Probably not the pass catcher ISJ is, but his blocking is top tier for a TE and on that note...can we get Schlerith on commentary every week? Love listening to him.
I think TE will be a priority heading into next season. Luckily for us there's going to be some really good ones in the draft
The Vikes won’t re-sign Glass Irv, as they shouldn’t, and he’ll be a perennial pro bowler wherever he signs. It’s practically written in the stars.

I don't think Mundt is better than Irv and isn't going to suddenly morph into a weapon on this team. It was a cool play design for a player that defenses aren't keying on. Irv actually scored on this same type of play a couple games ago if I remember correctly. If Irv misses time our TE group suddenly looks really weak. I actually think we might see Hollister have a better chance at making an impact in the receiving game. He's actually done it before in Seattle and other stops. Just not sure if he's comfortable enough with the playbook yet.

with the depth of need on this team... can you really put much draft stock into a TE? They dont really make as much on average as some of the other key positions so IMO unless a total stud falls into our laps, I would say find a TE in free agency and focus those draft picks on positions that carry higher average salaries to help load the roster with rookie contracts at areas where the vets are more cost prohibitive in FA.

What I like about Mundt was the blocks he was throwing against the Cardinals. Really pushing his man right out of the play...
Well that hurts, but I'm not going to complain too much considering we might be the least injured team in the NFL.
If it's a high ankle sprain that typically means 3 or 4 weeks, so probably not enough to prompt a trade for a TE. Mundt is no ISJ, but he'll probably suffice until he gets back.
Yeah I saw Irv limping on the sidelines yesterday so not surprised.

I guess it depends on the severity. I assumed 6-8
considering it took him a year plus to recover from a meniscus, this could be career threatening, at least as a Viking… :s :s
Why we ever got rid of Conk is puzzling. Money? they can find a lot of ways to come up with money.

Johnny is a far superior blocker but doesn't offer the same field stretching ability in the passing game. I would love to draft Michael Mayer or the Georgia kid this year.

We could poach Davidson off of the Bill’s practice squad, i can think of one particular poster who would really like that…! ;) :p
Time to close the book on ISJ.
