I thought it was going to be a woke version where the main character is a black little girl who begs her parents for an Easy Bake Oven but they keep telling her she'll burn the house down....

This is the goofiest of all movies, but somehow became beloved in our family over the years...

I think I got my FIL a nightlight of that lamp with the fishnets one year.

was coaching at the Midwest Youth Football Championship in Cleveland the year the movie was 30 years old.  Took the family over to the house and jad a great time.  Kids shot BB guns in the same back yard.  Pictures in front of the "leg lamp".... PRICELESS!

Yeah I guess it feeds some sort of nostalgia but I never liked this movie. I thought it was annoying and ridiculous. TBS and TNT actually play it over and over again on Christmas eve and Christmas day. My mom hates it, sometimes my brothers joke that they are going to put it on and she is like no we are not lol.

A 12” leg lamp adornes my FIL’s tv entertainment center.

Love the movie, however I don’t watch it every year like I do other movies.

Jean Shepherd wrote this, he grew up in Hammond, IN which is very close to where I live. So, I read a lot of his stories back in my teenage years. Thought it was funny then, now it’s just ok.
But, I do catch the movie once every few years.
