9'ers or Eagles?
Who's #1 in NFC at this point?
My $ is on 49'ers!
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Eagles right now
Jimmy G sure makes that 9er team way more scary than having Lance back there. I think that San Fran defense can handle just about anyone too, so I give them the edge right now.

Jimmy G looked like crap last week. Not too unexpected for a guy that had no preseason. He sure looked sharp last night. That defense is scary good. Much different than the Vikings defense.
Imagine having a team with a defense that hasn't allowed a first 1/2 td yet this season...
Vikings D has a long ways to go to reach that level of play - unbelievable talent.

Jimmy G always looks sharp against the Rams. Their defense is great. However I still think at this point in the season the Eagles are #1.

Vikings were that defense 2015-2017.

I was at the playoff game vs Seattle @ TCF - damnI rank 17 up there (down there?) with 98 and 09 - and probably 1 or 2 Burnsie teams too.

I honestly think that was the year they could have gone all the way. The D was crazy good with Joseph as that rock in the middle. Teddy was cool and steady.
Wish a lot of you could have seen the defenses of the the late '60's to mid '70's, they were amazing.

Game was very different in those days. Rule changes in 78 started to open up the passing game more. The game now is pass happy in part because CTE has caused them to legislate a lot of violence which benefited defense out of the game.

The same year Alan Page won the MVP.@"1VikesFan" said: Wish a lot of you could have seen the defenses of the the late '60's to mid '70's, they were amazing. Eagles. A little surprised the 49ers are in this conversation. Great defense. Maybe the best in the NFL. But Jimmy G is still their QB, and while he played well last week, he's horribly inconsistent. He will lose a lot of games for them. In fact, just the week before he was awful in an ugly loss against the Broncos.

@"HappyViking" said:No doubt the 49ers have what looks like one of the best defense in the NFL this year. Right now I'd have it ranked 49ers, Bills, Cowboys as the top 3. However, the Eagles defense is right behind those 3 and has been a big reason Philly is undefeated at this point.@"MaroonBells" said: Eagles. A little surprised the 49ers are in this conversation. B)I'd say the Eagles are the top team in the NFC right now because they have a top 10 offense AND top 10 defense. The 49ers are too one dimensional... If their run game isn't going and Deebo isn't doing Deebo things (or he's hurt), that offense is very very average.
This could all change a month from now when we hit the mid point of the season.

Jimmy G isn't a total crap QB, and has played in NFC title games and a SB before. The way the 9ers handled the SB champs last week made me a believer. I agree the Eagles are right there at the top too, but I'd give the 9ers the edge only because the way they play D.
