Hicks is a cool dude. Whip smart, masters in advertising, married, 3 kids. He's a better pass rusher than I thought he was too.
Kendricks was drafted at 45 in 2015, Hicks same year at 84. They rank 1 and 2 in tackles, sacks and INTs among linebackers drafted that year. Six LBs went before Kendricks. Five in the 1st round. Two in the top 10. Every single one of them has been a bust.
The Z and the Hicks acquisitions along with Phillips were huge. If they stay healthy this defense has the potential to be really special.

Picking LBers in the first 2 rounds can be a risky deal. As you mention, so many busts.
