You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it. — Robin Williams
The team can use a weapon at TE, its the only real weak link on offense outside of center. Smith can be that weapon if healthy.
So after just stating the obvious, I don't see him staying healthy all year.
Enormously talented. But the 2nd coming of Tony Gonzalez we all saw in training camp and preseason last year was in a different offense. KOC may not use him as much. And with JJ, AT, KJO, and now Dalvin out of the backfield, there may not be enough balls to go around. Still, I think he finishes as a top 10 TE.
Regardless, he's going to get paid big next spring. But with JJ coming up, sorta think it won't be the Vikings who pay it.

I’d settle for him actually finishing the season.

That would be nice, wouldn't it? Actually, I think proneness to injury is the most exaggerated thing in sports. Kyle Rudolph had that reputation early on. Couldn't stay healthy. Until he did...and then went on some ridiculous streak of consecutive games played. I think the odds are in his favor, but we'll see. He does play for the Vikings. :-)
