Vikings waive WR Smith-Marsette
Just reported.
Wow, just wow...
So what this tells me is all the fluff and stories we read on guys like Watts and Smith-Marsette and in reality, they are very expendable. I'll give the new regime credit for moxie, because they should do it their way. Because they'll burn you down regardless if you lose games.
Wow, certainly some WTF moments so far. I really liked Smith-Marsettte.
Wow....didn't see that one coming.
This doesn’t make sense. Gotta be for a reason other than his play. There’s several others on this roster I’d send packing way before him.
Makes you wonder if one or two of these moves (watts, ism) are cultural. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

im guessing Raegor was picked up as a replacement for Smith-Marsette to be used primarily as a punt returner. Maybe only secondarily as a WR.
Yep...a little bit performance, a little bit cultural...
Just got off the phone with recently waived #Vikings WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette’s agent.

Sounds like the coaches believed his punt returning wasn’t up to par, and there was some tension in the locker room after he told rookie CB Andrew Booth “sleep with both eyes open, b*tch.”

Although Reagor muffed a couple punts in one game. Perhaps they just felt like he had more upside than Smith-Marsette. Again, he's only 23. I've heard that the Personnel Dept of each team keeps tabs on every other player on all other teams...they're all looking at the same 700+ active players constantly.

Don't know the validity of the above but the guy was a turd at Iowa and I said that the day he was drafted. So wouldnt be shocked.
I don't know about anybody else, but I like the way their wiping the faces of Spielman and Zimmer off this team and quick...
meanwhile in Chicago, their new GM’s roster consists of 5 waiver pickups, 10% of their 53…! :o

I think this guy makes shit up to get TwitterNation into an uproar. I don't think its legit. You might have gotten 'Sticky'd' here.

Very possible. I don't even know who that guy is.

New guy covering the Vikings for the Athletic. I would take it with a grain of salt as he also tweeted this:He also added that it could’ve been his, quote, “thirsty” comments towards star WR Justin Jefferson’s girlfriend that did him in.

Ihmir was far from a model teammate at Iowa from most reports. Not a huge surprise, but disappointing.
