Strib: Maye and McCown have strong connection
"Being around McCown at practice every day like that rubbed off on him and made him want to be that kind of leader," said one of Drake Maye's former teammates

At UNC's pro day today, Vikings QBs coach Josh McCown and Maye will share the field again. https://t.co/x92UmeYDpz
Also in the story, Adam Thielen on McCown after they spent last year in Carolina together:

"They got a steal in Minnesota. Some guys are great players, but can't translate that to coaching. He has a very unique ability to translate what he learned." https://t.co/x92UmeYDpz
I'm glad to see that KOC is putting a lot of attention into building his coaching staff. I think it's an important part of building a championship. IMHO it was Zimmer's downfall.
F*&k all these qb's and media.
With pick 11?
I feel like a starved waif being brought into the little french bakery and told you can look and smell, but dont touch or eat anything.

Per @nfldraftscout, multiple NFL teams have J.J. McCarthy ahead of Drake Maye now 👀

“A high-ranking evaluator I spoke to this week said McCarthy's winning résumé, upside as a mobile QB and impeccable poise under pressure all graded out higher for them than Maye.”

But I did mention this quality about JJM months ago: he's Joe Cool under pressure.
@"MaroonBells" said: https://twitter.com/TPPSkol/status/1773687937881829623?s=20I think we see this dynamic every year, a great example was the Josh Allen draft, not only did Mayfield and Darnold go ahead of him at 1 and 3, but right below him at 10 was Josh Rosen, someone who before the draft was no where projected to go that high, I was actually surprised both Darnold and Rosen came out that year and thought they both should have gone back for their senior years, so it was shocking to see them both in the top 10. I hope this is true as it could really be beneficial to the Vikes if it potentially pushes down one of the top 3. The dynamics with Maye actually remind me a lot of when Dan Marino got drafted, Marino had a down senior season and consequently had a lot of guys pass him up. Not saying Maye is in Marino's category, as I think he is the best ever in terms of a pure passer, but think he is also being undervalued based on not having as good of a year.
Per @MoveTheSticks, Drake Maye should be “praying” he lands in Minnesota and his “number 1️⃣ choice” should be the #Vikings 👀

brian kelly was talking about Daniels and made it sound like JD is already selected by Washington....or he's just pimping his boy?

Speaks pretty well for KAM and KOC as far as being a safe landing spot for young players...despite the lack of attention shown to date for IOL.
@"JimmyinSD" said:It's about the surround. There isn't another team in the NFL who can offer a rookie the offensive supporting cast he would get in Minnesota. “Who’s going to [the #Vikings]?” was one GM’s answer when asked to predict the most successful QB from this year’s draft 👀

pic.twitter.com/sTdC2DjgIFthe surround is a good thing, but that doesnt really mean much if the QB isnt brought along right, the signing of Darnold gets a lot of shit, the notion of a throw away season pisses fans off, but finally it looks like the GM and Coach are making moves to create a future for this franchise and for the betterment of whoever they pick for a starting QB. The targets are nice, but way the rook is brought along IMO will have more bearing on his success. ( as long as they fix that center position and get the pocket front door closed )
