He Announced His Presence With Authority
Kareem Hunt - RB - Chiefs
Kareem Hunt rushed 17 times for 148 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs' Week 1 win over the Patriots, adding five receptions for 98 yards and two additional touchdowns.
Welcome to the NFL. Hunt lost a fumble on his first carry — something he literally never did at Toledo — but bounced back to absolutely shred the defending-champion Patriots. Hunt did it all tonight, getting upfield in a hurry and extending runs with power and broken tackles once he met the pile. He was also feathery smooth in the passing game, securing all five of his targets. His touchdowns went for three, 78 and four yards. He's the Chiefs' new three-down back, and will be an RB1 for Week 2 against the Eagles.
Not a bad start...Cook puts up half that on MNF (Gruden would run out of superlatives) and I'll be a happy man...
God, I hate MNF...sound will be off...
If I gambled, I would have a rule to never bet week 1. Big talk, small time gambler I know was talking about betting the pats very confidently.

or is it develop a line and you can make any RB look good?
This season will answer those questions.
Exactly! Because,.you know, 1 game equals an entire career, right?

OMG already slinging arrows based on one player one game only. 14 other games to be played but throwing this crap out even after week 1 is dumb. My god people. Calm the F down.
This season will NOT answer those questions. You need a few years to evaluate picks.

in a league where the avg career is only 2.66 years (wall street journal quoted by SI) and continuing to decrease, a few years to evaluate is to long for most of these guys.I am sure much of what Zerker said is tongue in cheek, but I tend to agree that our scouting dept needs to be evaluated in terms of where they find value. hitting on first and second rounders isnt really that difficult, its being able to find consistent talent in the middle rounds is where they are suspect and it could be argued that if Spielman was more confident in his and the scouting departments abilities that he wouldnt be looking to move out of those middle rounds so often. (both up for safer picks, and back for more picks to try and get lucky and find a diamond in the rough through sheer numbers)

Round 1 isn't the resounding hit rate one would expect really. 60% or so? Round 2 drops even further.

ok, not sure what all this is trying to show? it stands to reason that higher talented (drafted ) players on avg will have longer careers. so is the bang for the buck better having a 4th round pick or 2 in the 7th?
Heres some numbers from 2014 that lists starters by round drafted in terms of qty (freq) % of total and a cumulative %. (Forbes)

I was feeling pretty good about my matchup. My opponent drafted only one QB: Jameis Winston, who was forced into a week one bye. Ha! Thanks Irma! Thought about changing my team name to Kamikaze, which is Japanese for "divine wind." Got home about half way through the game and discovered he snagged Alex Smith off the wire just before kickoff. He had Hunt going too. I'm down by 70-some going into the weekend. ****ing Irma!I love fantasy football.
That's BRUTAL... and exactly why I love fantasy football. LOL
Can you guys can show me where our drafted players came out and make that kind of a mark on opening day and people didn't get excited about him?... even if it was only one game?
No shit it's only one game.... wow, I never knew that, thanks.
Talent was deep in this draft for RBs... as stated by others in this thread. Did we need to trade up and draft one where we did? Only reason we "needed" to was due to the other drafted RB hasn't produced yet.... But whatever...
arrows away!
Hopefully Cook makes me look like a dumbass and racks up 2200 yds for the season and wins Super Bowl MVP. I've been a dumbass before and I will be again... I wouldn't mind it one bit.
Setting the bar for Dalvin Cook, let's see what you got man
