Not excusing the way we played, but the refs were terrible today.

That call on Woods was junk.  He led with his shoulder and didn't make contact with the receiver's head, what do you want him to do there?  In overtime that corner 100% led with his head to hit JJ.  No call.  There was an extremely obvious hold on Hunter, in front of the ref, when the panthers were in the red zone.  No call.  Etc...

Like the title said, no excuse for anything the Vikes did on the field, but the refs sucked.

I am over whatever the refs do. Ref ball is not going away. The Vikings have to overcome that shit and move forward.

VG makes a very good ppint. We do not play a style of offense that takes advantage of the way the game is called today. Both in terms of prnalties and advantage to the offense.

Did I miss something when they called our defensive lineman for a hand on the face mask?  I think they replayed it once and all I saw was a hand across the shoulder pad.

It seems like in the last two games the refs have been made a couple calls on what they thought they saw and not what actually occurred.  Kind if like Cooks knee down at the i. when he actually scored.

that was a terrible Facemask call.   Also there was a really chintzy holding call on 3rd and long against Howard that was NOT holding.   Panther offensive line was holding on for dear life they couldn't keep the Vikings front four out of the pocket.  Really pathetic how the refs swallowed their whistles on the game tying drive.

I watch a ton of NFL football and the refs this year have not been good.   Has Goodell/Billionaire ownership decided to pay for full time refs yet or are they afraid they might unionize and want "more" money and benefits?

I think that and they don't care about the screw ups. People talk about the refs messing up which generates more buzz. I think they care more about that. What is interesting to me is that young people are not a large portion of NFL fans as in serious fans. They are generally more casual fans. If they want to expand their fan base, they are doing it wrong. Young people have more options. They generally don't subscribe to cable. They are more about the highlights. As more people cut the cord, we'll see what happens.

You are spot on because that reflects my son and all of my 10 nephews all under 35.  No cable, they stream through gaming, watch highlights, do fantasy but I don't think ever sit and watch a a full game.  So to your point they wouldn't know if one game was refereed bad vs any other.

They are terrible every single game. They are not only inept, there is also bias. I watched one game where the refs spotted the ball one yard short for the visiting team on most plays.

The thing that bothers me most is when they review a mistake they made and still won't change the call!
The phrase "called on the field" is code word for the refs are never wrong and are too arrogant to admit a mistake. Called on the field should have no special powers that take precedence over getting the call right.
Why even have replay if you aren't going to correct mistakes?

I'm still pissed about some of these calls. And no, they don't even out over time. Big name teams almost always enjoy a referee bias over the teams that don't have a closet full of Lombardi's!

I agree that they don’t care, because people keep watching. So, it doesn’t effect their bottom line.

My sons are casual fans. They don’t actually watch games, not even the Super Bowl. They follow on their phones, getting updates and final scores. I wonder when the TV money will start to dry up?

The refs have their favorites and we are not one of them. Of course we could wear yellow helmets and pants to confuse them.
