Because we could all use a change of pace...

How it started:

How it 'landed':

What in the world is going on these days?

By his smiles, he seemed to be enjoying the bondage.

Heh. I think the 'smile' was due to the tightness of the tape around his jaw. If he was anywhere near that condition at the start of the flight, he should have never been allowed to board.

Sounded kinda like alcohol may have contributed.  the "... pause to think, my grandpa..."

Right? I would have been willing to help tape him to his seat.

Honestly, before the cell phone cameras, this would have just been a blurb about an unruly passenger that forced the flight to be diverted.

That's a very fair point. There are so many things we see today due to cell phone cameras. It has existed for years but has only recently come to light with proof. That applies to sooooo many areas, good and bad.

Never ever stand up for a douche bag like this, but flying sucks these days compared to the pre covid days.

The day's before deregulation were a lot better.  Pan-American and Eastern used actually have great food. Steak or Seafood with free booze.  There were some really cool, short lived ones after,, MUSE I  think, flew the gulf, Miami, Tampa, N.O.  Huston hobby, all seats 1st class.  Remember a flight from Houston, post high end cattle auction, ran out of liquor before New Orleans, sat at the N.O. terminal till we could reload.  Could have been a Dean Martin, Foster Brooks production.

i remember years ago when i was in my twenties i was flying with Western Airlines on business.  it was an early flight so they served champaign with I think orange juice.  i was sitting near the back by the galley and as everyone else quit drinking the stewardesses kept refilling my drink.

i think they were either trying to finish off the bottles of champaign before the flight ended or get me drunk and haul me in the back so they could have their way with me :)

An airline called Midwest Express out of Milwaukee used to have only two seats per row and served free champagne the whole flight any time of day. Also served great hot food.

I saw the video yesterday and am glad there's a second angle.

I wonder if they can charge the flight attendants with assault?  Obviously the asshat is never going to fly again...unless $2M is a whole lot more in Miami then everywhere else.

But are the flight attendants allowed to restrain someone like that?

Next time he should fly Spirit Air Lines.  They just don't care.  This would have been a quieter than normal flight on Spirit.

Is that crawfish?  It looks like a lot but you don't get much meat from those little tails.

I think its lobster from an airport red lobster or similar?  I've eaten my share of crayfish and their tail might have as much meat as a smaller shrimp...think Casino cocktail shrimp size.  (u35 shrimp)

The ones the kids catch in the creek are less then a salad shrimp meatwise.  They think its funny that I'll boil them up on the campfire and eat them.

I'm trying to figure out what choice they had. I'm really not sure what protocol is. But I've seen video of zip ties being used before.

He's posted a few things:

(I don't really trust this guy's memory)
