The deal after the deal: the Eagles and new CB Darius Slay reached agreement on a 3-year, $50 million extension that includes $30 million guaranteed, @RosenhausSports tells ESPN.

Slay is a good corner and the Eagles need help there, but I don’t get it when teams give up draft picks for a guy, then sign a guy to a huge contract.  Why not just sign one of the higher end FAs and just pay the $$, and hold onto your draft picks?
