One stop in last 6 possessions with game on the line

FG, missed FG, TD, punt, TD, ran clock out. All the blame on Murray and offense and justifiably so, Murray is awful, the OL is not playing to the level they are getting paid and the play calling is terrible. However, they did put us on a position to win the game and the supposedly elite defense completely folded.

We have been doing it with amazing edge and LB play, but when those two parts of the defense were neutralized, the rest of the defense could not pick them up. DL and secondary were exposed for that they are today and Flores did not make any 2nd half adjustments and was totally out coached.

Blame the offense and Murray as they should, but a defense that gave up 24 first downs, 230 rushing yards, 384 total, is equally responsible.

They held one of the most explosive offenses to 19 points on the road. Couldn’t score 20 against one of the NFL’s worst defenses??

Can't just play one half and then say you did your job. Should have been 22 and Lions would have scored on last drive if they needed to, they could not stop them. Offense definitely was terrible, but defense shares half the blame here.

The D was completely exhausted by the end of the game. The offense could not sustain any sort of rhythm to get the defense some rest. This game is completely on the offense IMO.

That is not true. Here were the key consecutive possessions in the 2nd half where we got totally run over. They had plenty of rest and in addition there were so many injury timeouts including the long one.

Lions 2:53 TD
Vikings 5:11 Gave ball up on downs
Lions 1:49 punt
VIkings 3:56 TD
Lions 4:09 TD

What do you think the winning percentage is of teams that give 230 rushing yards in a game? Yes offense to blame, but Flores and his defense is equally to blame.

The defense has had better weeks. So has the special teams. So has the offense.

What are we doing here?

People are mad about Kyler or KO or Teasley because that’s a specific guy who’s underperforming.

Equally? Are you serious? If it werent for the D we lose this fucker by 20. Thia D has carried this shitball year and in no way shares any blame for this loss. KOC and his insistence that might mouse is his QB is the issue. Any finger pointing at the D is completely ignoring the fact that the game is rigged for the O and ours cant take advantage of that fact.

So giving up 384 yards and 230 rushing yards and only one stop in the last possessions had nothing to do with the loss???? Understandable the hate on the offense, which is deservingly so, but if the defense showed up in the 2nd half we win the game. Defense does not get a pass for what they have done in prior games and the first half, they got outplayed and out coached today. Have to play 4 quarters and they played 2 and did not show up in 2nd half. No excuse for them and they definitely have equal blame in this game.

No fn way, they get a pass because of the ineptitude of the O, they cant be expected to answer the bell drive after drive, game after game. Again, the game is rigged against the D, you cant put the first loss on the D that only game up 19 points on the road against a top 3 offense. Ain't buying that shit when our QB and HC has yet to answer the damn bell all year.

We are still 6-1, but with each week tha KOC shows his stubborn insistence Murray is something we aube yet to see from him in purple, I am pushing more to the side of putting this more on the HC than anybody on the field.

I especially enjoy its the D's fault....or because we didn't take a RB with our 3rd round pick.....or we didn't run enough......or the HC sucks....BUT it just CAN'T be little tiny Kyler Murray's fault, lol. He's ass and its exactly what some of us feared but hoped against. What choice was there, they gave up on JJM and shipped him out. The accolades at the end of training camp were so forced and gushy for K1 now in retrospect, I actually thought maybe the strategy might work. But it was all propped up bullshit. The guy looks skittish and lost....and the look on KOC's face at the presser says it all. He knows there aren't any magic fixes for this offense in '26.

Save your damn picks for the Draft and don't waste them on any trades before the deadline. Don't have the QB for any of it...if you can't see that now, you'll never see it.

ONE OF??? It IS the worst NFL Defense and how many of their gametime starter left the game?????? UNREAL! If Kyler Murray starts another game for the Vikings (Barring injury to Wentz) it should be the end of KOC's tenure in Minnesota. PERIOD. This loss is ALL on Murray ALL OF IT. I agree Sticky!! TO blame the defense is INSANELY STUPID.

At one point they showed a stat that we'd missed like 17 tackles. It was not our best day defensively but it would have been enough if not for ineptitude from the HC and QB.

I wouldn't say equally. But I think there is some blame. The Lions started running and the D couldn't tackle. Not sure if they were trying too hard, trying to force a fumble and score or Gibbs was that slippery.

I also think Flores should have adjusted the D late, called off the dogs a bit to make sure the second level was in position.

That said, they held Detroit to 19. 3 at halftime. That should have been enough.

i dont think this defense or any defense that blitzes this much is elite. It covers the fact that the dline/cbs cant win one on one matchups and cbs would get burned. It works to a degree but has it's flaws. it is made to work with an offense that can get a lead. Imagine if the vikings could score points then you unleash the blitz on a one dimensional offense.

Yeah our D sucks, we’ve now allowed 10pts in the 4th quarter, this year! 😡

If there is blame to pass, I put nearly all of it on Kyler and to a lesser extent on KOC. Not kicking that field goal on 4th and 4 was stupid.

And while I don't question BFlo as a defensive coordinator, I do question his play calling. Every single time that we got gashed, he aligned either 3 or 4 down linemen with NO ONE mugging the A gaps. He may put Gink and Turner on the edges but put no one in the A gaps. We get smoked almost every single time he calls this alignment. Without potential rushers threatening the A gaps, the offensive linemen know who to block and can double team our defensive linemen and the opposing QB isn't about to wet himself. This entire defense is built on the confusion that comes from having the entire offense having to guess who's coming and who isn't. BFlo called this alignment an inordinate amount of times in the 4th quarter.

In BFlo We Trust
