Going rates have been around 5.5. Tires should be kicked.

Sounds like a guy who wanted to skip training camp until he signed with someone. Not a fan of players who play that game.

I think the team likes what they have seen from Batty, Richter and Chambliss and then they also have Golday, I think they will stay put there.

Hopefully we are taking a hard look. The available options are dwindling. Gink is getting up there in age and has had some injuries. DT seems ready to breakout, but after those two I don’t have much confidence in the likes of Batty, Richter, Chambliss being able to produce if they are forced to play a lot. They have talked about TID getting slimmer and playing some on the edge, but he just doesn’t seem like a prototypical edge like a Turner or VG.

I’m wondering if they wait until week 2 to avoid being on the hook for the year? With $22 million in space that doesn’t make sense but what else could it be?

Top 3 backups are TID, Bo, and Batty. Considering what we get out of Ginks and Turner, I don’t see anything remotely close to covering for these guys.

Of course, the scheme is really the star, so maybe Bflo changes things such that the backups get schemed to play to their strengths.

The lack of action is odd.

I wonder if the Vikings think they can get as much production from various rotations as they would from a veteran. A rotation of Batty or Richter (doubt both make the 53) and TID and Chambliss. Not a lot of pedigree there with a 5th rounder and three UDFAs, but they do seem to be fairly high on Chambliss.

Batty and Richter are making the 53 unless they sign an edge

Batty is the most likely to make the 53. He's reportedly stood out in training camp and it's showing up in the preseason.

Also, Golday has been a quick study (was known for this in college)... don't discount he could factor into the rotation on the edge of AVG or Turner need a break.

That final depth chart is going to be interesting.

I meant to mention Golday. Definitely an option that could keep the Vikings away from pursuing a vet. He's looked pretty good when blitzing inside, but I haven't noticed him much around the edge.

Eric…Your turn on the ol crystal football. How many current Seahawks end up on our roster and/or practice squad after cuts?

I’ll set the over/under at 1.5. I could certainly see Teasley picking up some old friends who get cut by the Seahawks. I’ll go deep in the weeds and take a swing at a guy. The Seahawks have a deep edge rusher room and they have a guy named Connor O’Toole who is on the roster bubble. He’s a UDFA from last year who has been awesome in preseason in 2025 and this year. He has 83 pass rushes and 15 QB pressures total.

I suppose the Vikings do have one or two spots where they could cut someone and have little chance of losing them to waivers, so if they need to make a move and carve out a spot on the 53 for someone they like who is getting cut, they can.

I think he’s mostly been in at iLB and overhang. But he could definitely fill in especially at the Gink role.

Unfortunately Batty is now out for the year with an ACL suffered in Friday's game. Another preseason depth loss along with Adams.

So NOW they'll pull the trigger on an Edge player. I mentioned this a bit ago but I think they liked young guys like Batty to step up, but he and Adams are gone so I expect someone will be signed.

It's too bad, I had heard he was our top backup edge rusher and the team was really high on him.

It's time for Teasely to earn his money and find another edge.
