It’s not hard to guess how this pick probably happened. We don’t have a GM so for the guys in the room, falling in love with a player who you know will be there when it’s your turn to pick is a pretty safe way to ensure you’re gonna feel good after the first round. The Vikings didn’t use any of their clock because they knew before the draft started that barring something insane, Banks was the pick. To be honest I don’t think that’s an optimal approach, but with the front office where it’s at, it’ll work for this year. I predict most of our picks to be either “reaches” or pouncing on big sliders. If we can just get some solid players then that’s awesome. Asking the current guys in the room to get both good players AND good value is probably setting the bar too high if we’re being realistic about this odd situation.

The foot stuff is scary but the upside is scary in a good way. I believe in Agent Caleb Banks!

Its just part of giving quick takes and grades on things that can't be quantified for years. Like there are grades being given this morning to 1st round draft picks that haven't even gotten to OTAs yet, lol. Some teams need to get 'A's and some teams need to get 'F's for their little game to work and pull in the clicks. And the people giving them were in college 3 years ago getting their Communications degrees, so let the rage bait hype begin.

Are the foot injuries a concern? Yes. Does he have immense talent? Yes.

Watch his highlights from the past two years and what he did to guys at the Senior Bowl. He's a monster. Quick first step, throwing guys around like rag dolls.

I get the injury concerns (I have them too), but if the team docs signed off on it and clearly Flores wanted this dude, we should be excited about adding a guy who could be an All-Pro.

I'm sure some teams had him off their board because of medicals, but we didn't. We'll see how this plays out in a few years. I like the fact that we've tried to beef up our trenches the past two years with Dallas Turner, Donovan Jackson, and now Banks.
