Case Keenum - QB - Vikings

Case Keenum (chest) was limited at Wednesday's practice.

It's a new injury for Keenum, but it shouldn't keep him from suiting up against the Browns Sunday in London. Keenum's been passable as the starter with Sam Bradford sidelined, but could get benched once Teddy Bridgewater (PUP, knee) is healthy enough to play.

Big difference between last years team, and heres why...
Posted by: quattrovike - 10-25-2017, 04:53 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (7)

Through 7 games the D has generated only 8 turnovers and offense has committed 7. Through 7 last year....16 Turnovers and 5 committed(including 12 to 1 in our 5-0 start.) This team isn't as reliant on the game changing turnovers to win, they are finding ways to get it done by playing great defense and getting off the field on 3rd down without being so reliant on the TO. If those TO's start to happen and we stay clean and efficient on O, I think this team will start winning games by two touchdowns consistently.

  You gotta love Browns fans
Posted by: Vikes45 - 10-25-2017, 02:04 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (13)

This a post from the Scout Browns board.   That board is hilarious, probably the busiest one on the Scout system those fans are so faithful, so long suffering.  Every week the gallows humor gets better.

Soul Dawg's post.

Vikings in London touting one of the NFL's best
defenses ,beit vs the run or pass they're simply outstanding up
against a toothless offense starting two assholes ( Britt and Crowell )
at the skill position who don't want to play for the Browns and a QB
carousel that could put out one of three guys with the same result .

Guaranteed loss before you start.

This team has officially jumped the shark .

The best QB they had who actually won a game in the NFL but no
world beater himself after Houston essentially paid us to take him off
their roster , is getting paid $16 million

to be a backup on another team , while we alternate between
scratching our nuts and rubbing our head trying to figure out why , and
why whats left to play the position , the guys we kept stink so bad.

Our latest rookie sensation who was drafted in the second , and
really should never have seen the field before the fourth or fifth game
at the earliest with all the cannon fodder we had on the roster at the
time to take their lumps and sort out this offense .

Has gone from future budding star to absolute three day old dog
meat under the tutelage and handling of the so called QB whisperer.

A HC so distracted he can't even see the value of forcing a team
to convert a 3rd and 16 and prevent them from scoring at all in their
opening drive vs automatically conceding them a FG on a fourth and one ,
or even considering the possibility from your own 32 , they

might actually go for it with the best running game in the NFL, pr
put you in the unenviable position of playing that down while they
attempt to hard count you before calling a timeout .

Its official , reds concerns of the first mate failing the
Captain promotion has transpited , forget the rest of the guffaws and
faux pas , you can't hide or ignore stupid , and that one clearly shows
out of his depth and somebody who has no clue as too what their doing.

Yet another OC who is a terrible HC.

On our once promising QB who has skills too drool over , Nobody
can sort out this fool kid after bombing in Notre Dame and getting that
episode blamed on the College coach , he is starring in the cameo role
of deep sixing his first NFL HC .

Hue Jackson is on his way to the Hoosegow after pushing his chips in on this kid

and ignoring the worst supporting skill position roster in the league , the WTF throws

nobody can explain coming at the worst possible time seemingly out
of nowhere every time the team gets something going have ended his
future as the Browns next signal caller .

Wasn't all Kizer's fault , as this dumb ass team with the worst
receiving corp of drop artists ever assembled and put out on a football
field ever , have run their course ,but the race horse is ruined after
being rode hard and put away wet , Hue Jackson is looking for the
revolver to put him out of his misery than the vet to fix what ails him ,
and in so doing has killed his own career .

You can't blame the kid for not knowing , without the teacher getting that stink rubbed all over his body too.

So forget about Barkley the kid from Penn State and tremendous RB
and get your QB venues ready as this stupid ass crew or the ones
charged with replacing them after they've all been fired will do what we
all wanted two years ago or those of us who had a fucking clue anyway ,
( which excludes those A holes clamoring for fixing the pocket when we
have no QB ) and finally pick a QB number one .

Three years in and five number one picks and maybe just maybe
they'll read the memo that getting this QB thingy right first and
foremost might be a good idea.

But that comes later .

First there is this Sunday early in the morning and then epic Doom .

The music is gonna stop playing in London and somebody is gonna be left without a seat on the plane ride home to Berea .

With no QB we have no chance .

We're back to the future right where we were when Colt McCoy
played out that string of games and you knew before the game started we
had no chance to win , only problem we have ten more of these painful
babies coming our way , with the chances each one will be more
excruciatingly brutal than the last .

We're gonna put all the S $ M pay per view web sites out of
business with free public whippings each getting more grotesque by the
week .

Gird your loins ladies and gentleman , you thought you knew what bad was .

You just have no idea.

We're now in position to be our absolute worst .

You can't make this shit up !

  I'll Drink To That

Coach Hue Jackson named rookie DeShone Kizer the Week 8 starter against the Vikings.
Kizer has been yanked from the game in each of his past two starts and was benched in Week 6 in favor of Kevin Hogan, who was a total disaster himself. The Browns have nowhere else to turn; Jackson isn't a fan of Cody Kessler because of his size and lack of arm strength, and Hogan proved he's not any better than Kizer. Kizer can't stop turning the ball over, especially in the scoring area. The Vikings are an elite streaming option despite being across the pond in London.

Nothing can keep Sir Purple Heart from the Vikings...
Posted by: Wetlander - 10-25-2017, 12:57 PM - Forum: The Longship - Replies (1)

In the Vikings family, Garry Lodoen is known as "Sir Purple Heart" because he bleeds purple AND he's a Purple Heart recipient.
A veteran from the Vietnam War, Lodoen has been a valued Vikings season ticket holder for the past 20 years. Unfortunately, this year, Lodoen suffered a stroke and while it is a long recovery, nothing will stop Garry and his wife from cheering his Vikings in person.
"The Vikings mean more to us than anything besides our marriage," said Lodoen. "We plan on being at every game and we would love to see them in the Super Bowl."
Lodoen currently attends the games with a walker, so he might not be blowing into the Gjallarhorn just yet, but his dedication and heart are undeniable. With opponents trying to storm out of Minnesota with a win, it's always nice to have a war hero on your side.
