For the 2026 NFL regular season, the Minnesota Vikings have called passing plays on 50.49% of their offensive snaps, meaning their rushing play percentage sits at 49.51%.[1]

This nearly 50/50 balance places the Vikings as the 31st most pass-heavy team in the league (or the 2nd most run-heavy team). Head coach Kevin O'Connell has leaned heavily on a conservative, run-first approach—particularly during early downs where the team has called run plays over 62% of the time. This philosophy is designed to protect backup quarterback Carson Wentz, limit turnovers, and maximize their elite, top-ranked defense.

Sweet, fancy, Moses. 2nd most.

Issue is only 5 other teams have scored less points than Minnesota. Need to turn yards into more scoring of touchdowns. Better redzone execution. Seems to be trending in the right direction.

I think he needs to blend how he used to against how he is now. We have effectively run the ball. The tape is out. We have tendencies.

Play action a bomb to JJ and force them to think you will pass on first down. I think his tendencies put us in a bind alot of the time and our offense stalls because when its 3rd and 7, Murray knows they are bringing a blitz and he is anticipating getting smashed.

I'm perfectly fine winning with a strong run game, defense and special teams. Jettas is almost always going to get a safety over the top too.

Eventually, they are going to have to put up 28 or 30 pts in a game and I hope they can do that.

I dont think thats the Colts, but I would bet the over in Vikes vs Bills in a few weeks. I think the Packers game too.

I am hoping that as KM gets his weapons back, as KOC and KM get comfortable with each other, then those deep shots will come as will the scoring.

The top of that list is mostly pocket passers. The bottom of that list is mostly scramblers. Do with that what you will.

The reason many do not consider the undefeated Vikings a top team is because most of the wins have come against weaker teams (Dolphins, Bucs, Saints) and their style of winning seems unsustainable, especially against the better teams. We did put up 39 vs GB, but with little offense. And the win vs. Chi was in terrible weather. The defense and ST have been great. And we are way ahead in turnover difference. But the offense has been below average. KOC has to do better. I suspect most people would say that the best coach on this team is the DC, not the HC.

Our strength of schedule so far is harder than KC or SF. Probably because we beat 2 teams in our division that only have 2 losses each.

I thought K1 was cooked. He isn't. Instead it was that he couldn't execute the offense KO wanted.

Murrays play has improved in each game as the result of KO adjusting.

Don't trade JJ.
