Texans Vs Jags
Stroud has looked better so far. 0 picks for the season.
Tuten. JFC. Not to be a broken fucking record but god damn it you passed on this for a fucking punt gunner WR5?

If we're going to make a move, I think it's gotta be a big one for Barkley or Taylor, someone who really moves the needle we can ride through the playoffs. I have my doubts Indy will trade Taylor with a temporary GM in place, but the Eagles certainly could move Barkley as their team falls apart and they face serious cap issues.
I don't see any of the other backs as any better than Mason or Jones. They would just be part of the rotation. Nothing wrong with that. We could certainly use another guy to keep everyone fresh, but a real weapon to fear in the backfield would change how teams play us. 18, 3, 87, 1 and a premier back? Oh my, good luck.

I've been saying this for days, its the only thing worth doing....the needle mover. Anything else is rotational and why bother (its fine I suppose)? But I'm not sure if it'll happen and remember Minnesota won't be operating in a vacuum, other teams will also be interested. What will the comp look like if so? Is Barkley's injury just nagging or problematic for '26? As it gets closer and closer to the trading deadline, does it make more or less sense for Minnesota to make a trade for either? Both are big contracts.
Questions, questions.....🤔

"Barring an injury ..." We have 2 functional RBs. Mason has already been injured this year. Jones is an older back who has a long injury history and has been overused because of the Mason injury. And we are not even one-third of the way into our season. "Barring an injury" is like telling me barring a fire, flood, earthquake, tornado, or hurricane, I don't need homeowners' insurance. No kidding. Tony Pollard would be great insurance.
We have 3 games left before the trade deadline. If we can go toe-to-toe with the Lions and Bills, we may want a difference maker at RB. Mason and Jones are good, but they are not explosive, homerun threats. Taylor or Saquon would be expensive, but if they can really help our chances of getting to the NFCCG, it may be worth it.
The whole injury thing is moot. Aside from Jones who is old and never been a 25+ carry guy, anyone can get injured. If we trade away our future for Taylor or Barkley, what keeps them from getting injured and then we are back in the same situation.
IMO you have to have a plan for injuries, backups and such. We have that Mason and Jones. Mason had an injury and now is coming back. Jones handled the workload.
Would I love to see a franchise RB on this team, exactly. But it has little to do with injuries.
Another argument for going all in at the trade deadline:
"When you look at the Minnesota Vikings being 5-0 with Kyler Murray on a vet minimum deal, with Brian Flores in a situation where we could be talking about him being the head coach of somebody next year. I think pretty quickly the Vikings are in a situation where you may look up and this may be our only shot within this specific window.” - Vikings Collective

Another opinion that I agree with...
Dustin Baker@DustBaker
The Vikings must go all-in -- no debates -- because they will never, ever have a QB1 with Murray's talent at a $1.3 million price tag. It is the cheat code. It is a one-year thing. A one-hit wonder. In about five months, Murray will be asking for $40M+. Gotta strike now.
