WK 6 ~ BYE ~ Season Recap ~ Discussion ~ News, etc.
We're 5-0!!! As per the Vikings' way, it's been interesting, to say the least.
I usually don't like an early BYE, but I'm okay with this one. It will give the players time to heal for week 7 when the Colts come trotting into town. We really need them all back! Remaining schedule isn't going to be a "walk-in-the-park".
Awesome that we've had 3 S.T. players named Player of the Week.
Week 2 ~ Isaiah Rodgers
Week 3 ~ Myles Price / Also the September S. T. Player of the Month.
Week 4 ~ Will the Thrill
Murray is finally showing what he's capable of. He's 69/101 passes (68.3%) for 662 yds.
Defense... well, we all know how they're doing ~ GREAT!!!
So, what's your opinion/thoughts of the team/season so far? Any favorite highlights you want to re-share?
BTW ~ We'll remain undefeated this week too! 😂

Vikings trade deadline targets: 4 players Minnesota could pursue
Minnesota has an opportunity to be aggressive before this year’s trade deadline.
After a 5-0 start, the Vikings are ideal candidates to be buyers before this year’s NFL trade deadline. Running back appears to be a position they could upgrade at, but there are other holes on the roster. Here are some logical targets they could pursue before the Nov. 10 deadline.
Tony Pollard, RB (Titans)
There are numerous veteran running backs Minnesota could look at, and Pollard should be near the top of the list. The Titans are clearly among the worst teams in the league, and Pollard still has some tread left on his tires. He has totaled 68 carries for 273 yards and one touchdown through five games, and he’s playing on the last year of his current contract. A fifth- or sixth-round pick in exchange for Pollard could be exactly what the Vikings need to spark their run game.
Budda Baker, S (Cardinals)
If the Vikings want to make a splash move, Baker might be the perfect target. Josh Metellus and Theo Jackson are a formidable duo, and Harrison Smith looks like a 37-year-old safety. If there’s a position that Minnesota could upgrade defensively, it’s safety.
The Cardinals are in a rebuild, and Baker is still producing at a high level with 36 total tackles through five games. He’s 30 years old, and his current three-year, $54 million contract runs through 2027. A deal would likely cost the Vikings at least a Day 2 draft pick, and possibly more, but it could be worth it.
Walker Little, OL (Jaguars)
With Donovan Jackson out for the season, Minnesota could improve its depth along the offensive line. Little has played nearly 3,000 offensive snaps in his NFL career, and he has the versatility to play multiple positions. He has been in and out of Jacksonville’s starting unit this season as a swing option, so the Jaguars might be willing to part ways with him. Depending on how much draft compensation the Jaguars would want, Little makes a lot of sense as a target for the Vikings.
Dallas Goedert, TE (Eagles)
T.J. Hockenson has been great for the Vikings this season, but a season-ending injury to Josh Oliver severely hurt their depth at tight end. Goedert is a recognizable name, and he’s known as a receiving threat, but he has been an underrated run blocker for his entire career. He’s on an expiring contract, and injuries have been piling up for Philadelphia all season. If the Eagles opt to move on from some of their veterans, trading Goedert to the Vikings could make sense for both sides.

Weren’t some of these football experts saying the jaguars had a better defense than the Minnesota Vikings? 😳🤣 pic.twitter.com/iYTeD1wb33

Who would they replace in the starting lineup right now? They aren't trading just for the sake of trading. https://t.co/GVZJbXXTD3

Vikings' Jalen Redmond is becoming a big piece to the defense
Jalen Redmond has steadily risen to become one of the Minnesota Vikings' top defenders. He signed with the team in 2024, one year after going undrafted. The news barely registered with anyone. Now he's a key component of Brian Flores' elite defense.
But what would happen to this defense if Redmond missed time? On Vikings Collective, Alec Lewis of The Athletic wondered if Redmond is battling through an injury and just how much Minnesota would miss him if he were to be sidelined.
"Jalen Redmond, he plays with a massive pad on his arm," Lewis said. "I don't know if he's navigating something in the present, but when you watch that guy on a snap-to-snap basis, you're like, if you pull him out of this Jenga tower, then what happens?"
The trade deadline is less than a month away, and Lewis isn't the only reporter to suggest the Vikings could be looking for an interior defensive lineman. There are holes at running back and backup tight end, so it's easy to overlook the depth at defensive line when everyone is starting every game.
But injuries affect all NFL teams, and although Minnesota's offense has been affected by them early this season, the defense has remained relatively healthy. That likely plays a significant factor in why they are playing as well as they have through five games.
Still, what happens if one of those pieces, like Redmond, goes down? Lewis believes the Vikings could get ahead of the curve by addressing that potential hole.

Did Schneider cost Sea the chance at B2B SB's letting Walker go?

McCarthy comes in for a couple garbage time drives against a bottom team in the league, gets lucky on a couple big throws, misses the game winning throw and the TL is crucifying my coach and GM 👌

People can do anything they please but if you are cheering for McCarthy to have success and Kyler to fail just so you can say you were right, then you really aren't a Vikings fan. That mentality just makes zero sense.

Yes, it is. A person can hope that both do well. That's not the same as hoping one succeeds & the other one fails,

Exactly. But you aren't also reading every stupid post on X and what some of these idiots say.....its kind of mind blowing. This is Vikeologists' point, although I'm not a fan of his.
The most popular QB is always the backup and that'll be the case in NY until JJM gets to play a full game and then they'll see his strengths and weaknesses more fully. But yes, if there's anything at all the fans can do to negatively distract from a 5-0 record, leave it to Viking's fans to do it. 🙄
