He definitely needs to to fix this... 82.1 passer rating with 488 passing yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions in his two games against the Packers. Sure, it's a team sport but since you asked about K1...

Vikings gave up 60 sacks and led the league with 30 giveaways last year

. Murray will make fewer mistakes.

3 sacks

1 turnover

Over 50 yards rushing

Vikings roll

Don't trade JJ.

I think the odds of Murray throwing zero TDs Sunday is close to Everson Griffen being awarded Driver of the Year for the Twin Cities area. But other than that, not sure about a stat line. I think he's going to be hyped and want to do well.

Yeah, that Hargrave-led Packer defense looks dominant. And you're probably right. Even though he threw for 500 yards against the Packers in the Cardinals' two previous matchups with them doesn't mean he's going to come to the Vikings and not suck.

We don't have a 36-year-old AJ Green at WR to throw the ball to, or even a Greg Dortch. In their last meeting in 2024, the Cardinals starting offensive line was Kelvin Beachum on his 4th team, Hjalte Froholdt on his 4th team, Trystan Colon on his 3rd and Evan Brown on his 6th in 7 seasons. You don't keep getting signed by teams without having something to offer. Our guys just don't have that kind of experience on their resumes.

I don't know, maybe we can run the ball.

1 win 0 losses, the only stat that matters!

If that happens, a few members might go strangely silent.

His Cardinals head coach was Jonathan Gannon, who is now the defensive coordinator for the Packers. If anyone knows Kyler's weaknesses, it'll be Gannon. That concerns me. No stat line but I think Kyler generally plays well, shows off his legs and makes a couple of long throws but mostly I see a check-down game. Hopefully no catastrophically bad snaps.

I have a few things I'm concerned about. This is one, but i'm not sure how much of a factor it will be since the Kyler they see on Sunday in this offense is going to be a different Kyler than the one he saw in Arizona. Probably more deep balls, probably more under center, but who knows? He doesn't know. WE don't even know.

Actually, the Vikings should have an advantage in the chess department. We know Love, we've played him 9 times. And he's running the same offense the Packers have been running for 7 years. What the Vikings do on Sunday nobody has ever seen.

Maybe a bigger concern for me is that Jordan Love has played Brian Flores quite a few times now, so he may no longer be the kind of young QB who typically struggle against Flores.

Kyler:

15/20, 205 yards, 1 passing TD, 1 passing 2pt Conversion

47 yards on the ground, 1 TD on the ground

325 total rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs as KOC flaunts new running scheme where it feels like literally everyone but JJ is running the ball.

Zoinks...

Hard to predict with game 1, in a new system and new surround...

in 2024 (17 games played) he averaged 226 yds/game, 1.2 td's, 34 rushing yards/gm

  • At best they were a middle of the pack OL, not much at WR and his best weapon was TE

I'll make a wild guess of moderation game 1:

215 passing yds/1 td, 45 rushing yards

This is a game where the Vikings would love it if Mason/Jones each had lots of carries & yards to take the burden off a new QB.

Yeah, I think that's it. I'm not predicting big numbers for Kyler since I fully expect the Vikings to focus a lot more on running the ball and keeping the QB in the pocket. If Murray throws for 300 yards and 3 TDs, it probably means we're not playing defense and running the ball as well as we'd hoped.
