All the same things Darnold and Cousins dealt with and were able to be successful with both, in fact, can make a case that the OL was much better last year than in 2024 when Darrisaw was out for the season after week 8, Bradbury was starting at C, Brandel and Ingram at G.
McCarthy is now in his 3rd full camp with the team and still showing the same issues. Also a number of reports of JJM not taking to coaching, which could be the biggest issue of all and the reason why he is not improving. There is not a coach in the league who would continue to put their job on the line for these dynamics.

Sorry if this is already tweeted and I can't see it because my work blocks twitter, but what are the reports that JJM is not taking coaching? Are they credible reports or is it some guy on twitter saying random stuff?

Right now, Wentz is better than JJM. I finally watched the preseason game and JJM looks the same as last year. That's not a compliment. He still rifles the ball all the time. He still processes slowly and doesn't anticipate throws. Having said that, I thought Darnold was a bust and never again would be an NFL starting QB. However, JJM failed with a better receiving core than Darnold did with the Jets. I hope JJM can have a Darnold-like resurrection, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'd like what you're smoking....are you for real? You might want to watch it again.

Don't trade JJ.

I'll say this as an observational thing about Saturday: if JJ plays poorly, as he should be getting a ton of work, at U.S. Bank....I wonder if he gets booed? I mean, that's right there in line with fandom. A decent portion of fans still put stock into these games. Hopefully not the case, but I could definitely see it happening.

Again, who knows how true this QB3 talk is, but.....IF he's QB3, everyone should realize the party in Minnesota is over for McCarthy. I mean just the fact that there IS this kind of talk isn't great. I believe KOC already said he's QB2, so......he'd have to mini shit the bed to move down again.

its a bullshit report, weird that lacanfora is this desperate for a "scoop"- scoop of bullshit is what it is. As comet pointed out, its a misleading article. the infoverse gets more insane by the day. Now excuse me for a minute, there are kids on my lawn and irritating clouds rolling by.

The entire premise of everything we've done over the last four years has been centered on the "competitive rebuild" and building around a quarterback on a rookie contract. We were tired of the "rent-a-vet" cycle at quarterback and understood that its gotten us nowhere when it comes to winning a Super Bowl. So the head coach signs off on the drafting of this quarterback and investing a top 10 pick on him, and ten games in, we are scrapping that plan and everything we've been sold as a fanbase for the last four years....all so we can go back on the "rent-a-vet" cycle at quarterback without ever really knowing what we have in McCarthy? It's just more mediocrity and stupidity by this organization and why I say, I'd rather go 4-13 with McCarthy starting all year so we can know definitively what he is than Jefferson getting 10 TD's or the head coach winning just enough games to save his job. OConnell should have been made to sink or swim this year with McCarthy after the whisperer giving the stamp of approval in drafting him.
We will all of course root for whomever is playing quarterback, but that doesn't mean we have to like or agree with the organizations handling of McCarthy

Pretty sure a big red flag is you only being healthy to play 10 games over 2 years. And a 36.5 QBR. 2nd worst QBR since 2000.

Red flags dont get much bigger than that. His TC was the same we saw all last year.

Let it go
