😲 No way! If I had an extra $10,000 laying around (LOL), I can think of better ways to use it.

Get-in price for World Cup finale hits $10,000

On Sunday, MetLife Stadium will host the event with the most expensive tickets prices ever.

And it’s not an NFL game.

The World Cup finale between Spain and Argentina has, via Arash Markazi of The Sporting Tribune, a get-in price of $10,000.

The average ticket price is also a record. At $18,822, that’s twice the prior record, set by Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and 49ers in Las Vegas.

Like anything else, the tickets are worth whatever someone will pay for them. At this point, someone has to be willing to pay at least $10,000 for roughly two hours of entertainment.

I think the price I would pay to see the Vikings in a SB is relatively high. It's not $10,000 high.

You guys are just closed minded haters. typical Americans, just not cultured enough to appreciate the nuances of the most popular sport in the world.

One of my best friends is Argentinian. They actually won the World Cup last time around and were 2nd a few years before that, so this is not new ground for him and his family. Still, I don't think I could put into words his level of frenzy. I've seen how hyped this town can get when the Broncos are in the Super Bowl. Among the people who follow soccer (not me), this is 10X that.

Man, Argentina didn't play well.....nor Messi. I think that game illustrates a big part of why it'll only ever be so popular in the U.S. beyond catching the wave during a World Cup. 0-0 and then they needed extra time. Yuck. Get past the ridiculous hype from the purveyors of hyperbole (ESPN, FOX, etc.) and its a big time acquired taste for most Americans.

Gotta be 30 years since I watched a soccer match. But I put a little money on it to make things interesting and had it on in the background while I worked on other stuff.

Argentina as far as I could tell had literally one shot on goal the entire game while Spain had like 15. The Argentinian goalkeeper was the MVP win or lose, and the only interesting thing about it was watching him keep his team alive over and over. They had no offense, and then had to play a man down for like the last half hour which only made the dullness that much worse.

I get that the world loves it but...yeesh. The constant drama queen flopping and ridiculously obtuse officiating are just not entertaining imo. Who do they think they are, the NBA? 😅 I'm someone who enjoys a defensive battle in any sport but this didn't even feel competitive.

And the red card call on Argentina didn't look any different than a dozen other takedowns during the game. Just random shit based on who knows what that essentially killed whatever slim chance they had.

I would guess it will be another 30 years before I watch again after that display. If I live that long lol.

The red card was actually two yellow cards. But I agree, what the guy did didn’t look any worse than dozens of other plays that weren’t called for a card.
