Justin Jefferson Is Really Good At Football

If Jefferson's drop rate stood alone that would be one thing. But the entire Vikings WR group saw its drop rate double last year. Addison's quadrupled from 2024. Thielen went from a 0.0% drop rate in 2024 in Carolina to 18.8% in 2025 (all of his drops were thrown by McCarthy). If a QB throws a catchable ball and its not caught by the receiver, it's considered a drop. But it doesn't account for passes that might be coming too early or late in a window or at an unexpected speed or trajectory.
I think if we're all being honest, its truth that at times JJ was throwing fireballs when he didn't need to. There's no doubt he didn't help in that department at times. But also, there were some horrible drops at the worst times when the balls sure looked catchable. Its not like the ball pinged off somebody's fingertips and then went another 20 yards on a line. But it can't be ignored and shouldn't be that the common denominator with this was McCarthy. I think my point and maybe a few others is that there were a lot of little things that went wrong around him as well that certainly didn't help JJ and honestly weren't his fault. But its a big boy league and the buck stops with him, he gets that....and he deserves the criticism. QBs get too much credit and too much blame.
I said, even before McCarthy was drafted by Minnesota, the #1 issue he would have as a pro would be his accuracy. He'd have to improve there. Will he? Or more to the point, will he get the chance to show it? I don't know. My take is 10 games isn't enough. But if K1 takes this opportunity and never looks back, not sure who's going to care. Murray wasn't brought in by accident. But just from an odds perspective, there's no way Minnesota is likely to have the kind of injuries they had last year, so that will help QB1.

Maybe it's just me, but I recall more drops from Thielen and Hock vs JJ or JA? I think that corroborates with the drop rates MB posted.
I luv the home-town guy, but AT really disappointed me last year. My expectations were too high in retrospect.
I'm still rooting for JJM to be the long-term QB here. I'm just not sure when that is or under what circumstances?? I agree 10 games is too few, but I'll say (once more) he shouldn't have been starting in 25.
I just want this year to be fun and rewarding for us fans.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
