More On Frank Smith
We have so many signs pointing to increased running of the ball.

No doubt, but there is an undetermined part of that which is the Viking QB's audibling out of a run to pass too.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Until proven otherwise, I'm just going to assume he's not going to start calling run plays more often.
That said, I think there's a lot of room for fresh thinking in the play designs and making things more multiple. In am ideal world, I think KOC would start to see 7 yard runs in the same way he sees his passing game and try to create better designed runs that can get chunk plays and still get that dopamine hit

Isn't that why they hired Frank Smith?

Here's the deal, Udinski was a rising star. Even if we let Phillips go and promoted Udinski to OC, some team would have grabbed him in a year or two as a HC. Then KOC is looking for another OC to come in, learn his system, and be OK with not being the play caller. Not a lot of candidates that would want that but Wes seems OK with it.
I think there is a lot to say here. Being the playcaller is what most OC's go after. They won't get that here, and rightfully so. Not that I am a huge fan of Wes, but I think it is a perfect duo in the sense that he knows his role. So, it works.

Every year millions of people say, "Hey, I want to lose some weight, I'm going to start exercising" and then don't.
Frank Smith isn't calling the plays.
