Why? Because he's a talented dude....still just 30 years old
You can think whatever you'd like about this dude, but he's got talent. And they paid him a SHITLOAD of $$$$ and gave up a boatload of comp, so yeah......they'd like to see ANY kind of small return on that investment. Just for reference below what they did, lmao......its so brutal:
"SINCE THE BROWNS traded three first-round picks and three other draft selections to the Houston Texans for Watson in March 2022 and subsequently gave him a five-year, $230 million contract -- then an NFL record for guarantees on a single contract by $80 million -- Watson has played in only 19 games because of suspension and injuries."

For sure ... except for the Texans winning 3 SBs off the Browns mistake, but I do think this eclipses the Walker trade as worst in history in the publics mind.
I've said this before, but I think teams really should have their spidey senses at full blast if the other team is willing to trade their franchise QB to you. They probably know something you don't.

I don't think it really matters what they invested or that they're trying to get a return on it. More just, that whole situation was pretty toxic, and given that they couldn't get rid of him, it's probably better to let him compete for the job, have him stand on the sidelines than having this big division. Last thing they need is any of the young guys (cough ... Sanders ... cough) feeling like players are getting black-listed or not getting a fair chance.
