If it works...here's a comparison between last year's interior DL vs. what we are hoping for this year. Big spending on Free Agency is one way to build a roster, but there is no guarantee that you're not just pissing money down a rat hole.

Sidetrack question, but did we get some of that cap back because they signed new contracts?

Jonathan Allen's 2026 contract with the Vikings included offset language. This means that the $8 million in guaranteed money Minnesota owed him for 2026 is reduced by the amount he earns from his new contract with the Bengals. Consequently, the Vikings expect significant salary cap relief, potentially wiping out his dead cap hit.

you dont get prorated signing bonuses or any other bonus money paid back as that is money already spent up front, really all you save is towards future cap dollars that have yet to go to the player.

That surprises me...

Tommy P. said the Vikings are officially searching for a GM and using a 3rd party service to pare down the names to a short list. Reportedly Brez has told the Wilfs he wants to be considered for the role. Stay tuned.

Me too. I thought they’d kick him into a role similar to what Matt Ryan has in Atlanta.

LOL. Maybe a Freudian slip? Actually, there's a drummer I used to like a lot named Mark Brzezicki, so I call Rob "Mark" a lot, just like my mind can't seem to distinguish between Turner and Hunter. Aging is not for the faint of heart.

Well, if MB is named, hopefully I could be the mid Atlantic scout. 😆
