The Draft Broadcasts
They suck more and more every year. I wish they would announce the picks and analyze them. I’m actually at a point of just following online blogs. While both the NFL Network and ESPN suck, the leagues production of it is even worse. I went a few years back live and left after an hour. It’s awful.
I believe NFL network had Bucky Brooks on? At least for a while. That I listened to.
But overall, I can't watch the draft broadcasts just as I cant listen to Collingsworth any longer. It's the exact opposite of how I feel about listening to Romo and even Brady now.
For the draft, I just keep my browser on the ticker tape and watch the picks come in. Maybe chat room here in the earlier rounds to see what others are thinking or saying in real time.

It's just become such a circus, and not in a good way. Just my opinion, but it was so much better back in the day when they'd knock it out in its entirety in a single weekend and not have the (literal) dog and pony show. I don't want to see a gorilla from the zoo making a draft pick, retired players like Mark Ingram offering to fight people from the podium to try to get a rise from the crowd, or some 7 year old trying to pronounce a draft picks name and totally butchering it. Don't want to see Brett Michael's up there singing between draft picks. It's like piss off already!
The league is here to make money. The draft used to be about diehards. Now it’s about coin. Everything they do is to expand influence and gain eyeballs.
It’s just utterly annoying. I don’t know why a die-hard, casual, or non-fan would enjoy watching it at this point.
When I was at the live draft, they just found the fans with the whackiest attire and then told them to go crazy at certain times. I hated every second of it. And, I envision that every time they have these stupid fans going crazy over some player that none of them know one thing about.
If it’s a pick like Randy Moss, then by all means go wild, but maybe half the picks at best in round 1 does the avg fan have much of a clue about.
IMO its utterly and totally unwatchable. Like someone said, a circus with people acting and hyping ridiculously. Its gross. Anything you want to research is on the Internet and that's the way I follow it. WAY more useful and satisfying. Watching it is like insulting your intelligence.
But every fan has their own way of keeping up with it.
