Caleb Tiernan ~ OT ~ Northwestern
97th Pick
LIVE WELL ~ LOVE MUCH ~ LAUGH OFTEN
From Vikings.com
Listed on his NFL.com profile at 6-foot-7 5/8 and 323 pounds. He started 43 of 52 games for the Wildcats and switched from right to left tackle for his final three seasons after manning the right flank as a part-time starter in 2022 opposite Peter Skoronski.
Tiernan posted the 10th-highest vertical jump by an offensive lineman at the combine dating to at least 1999, according to MockDraftable. His leap of 35 1/2 inches was three inches shy of the top rung reached by Garret Greenfield in 2024. For what it's worth, Buccaneers five-time Pro Bowl tackle Tristan Wirfs jumped 36 1/2 inches in 2020, and Seahawks Super Bowl guard Grey Zabel ascended to that height in 2025. The Athletic's Dane Brugler noted in "The Beast" that although Tiernan exclusively played tackle in college and offers swing tackle ability, he may be best off long-term as a guard due to a lack of length.
In 2025, Tiernan allowed three sacks and 13 pressures, per Pro Football Focus, and earned the following grades — 70.5 overall; 84.3 pass-blocking; 59.7 run-blocking. He received greater marks two seasons ago — 82.3 overall; 88.9 pass-blocking; 74.8 run-blocking — and allowed as many sacks and pressures as '25.

Lack of length?
He's 6'7 for gods sakes...He aint bumping inside lol
I wonder if they are thinking an O'Neil replacement down the road??
I dont get drafting this position over a few others with much more need. This was something discussed in chat too.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I think this pick cements Brandel at C.

Dunno, I was thinking we needed some future depth inside.

Arm length is short for his size. Do we want a nearly 6-8 guy a G with a 5-10 QB? This was a head scratcher. I think after getting caught short after injuries at OT then wanted a better alternative.

No C or CB or RB but we draft an OT? Guess he was another BPA pick if Mel's got him #50. A whole lot of this draft is not making sense.

As I was saying.
Vikings aren't going to get caught again with their pants down depth-wise if shit goes sideways in the health department on either side of the ball on the lines. Skule is/was GARBAGE and I hated seeing that dude in the lineup. Learning from O'Neill is ideal. Tiernan was a slider, forecast to go 20+ picks earlier so he's got some talent.

Goodbye Walter Rouse. We hardly knew ye.
He might kick in to G. He hasn’t shown much to date. Last chance.
