Cowherd stirring it up
Don't think he's saying the Vikings will pick a QB, only a reminder that QBs are important. I guess we didn't know that before.

I don't think he's saying the Vikings would be interested, but who knows.

He's not a 1st round talent IMO. But the NFL continues to overvalue that spot as far as drafting is concerned.

More likely the puke would benefit due to they are one spot in front of the Steelers, but there’s still a chance.

I think the Packers will take a QB in this draft, but with only one pick in the top 83, Simpson is hard to see. I think Cowherd is basically saying that "backup QBs are important, look what happened to the Vikings," referring to the Rams. But even if they like Simpson in the 1st, how does a legit contender justify burning a precious 1st rounder on a bench player?

IDK, if you don’t have a QB, you should probably consider drafting any QB which has some amount of possibility of becoming viable. At any point in time 20 teams are in some state of partial dissatisfaction with their QB, and probably 10 teams are on the struggle bus with their QB.
Pittsburg should absolutely strongly consider drafting him. They’ll probably continue being in that zone of not being bad enough to draft a top prospect. The Jets should consider drafting him at 16 or 33 and then double dip next year and just tell him that straight out the gate and then just draft straight offense every pick. At 16 they would avoid competition from all the other bad teams that need a QB.
That said, I’m not sure what the Vikings have to do with anything. I think if anything, we’d be the reason why you shouldn’t over-draft a QB.

The consensus big boards are putting him in the 32-37 range, so a little outside the first.

Im thinking the more likely trade partner would be the pack trading down with someone else like the Rams selecting Simpson at 20, since Pitt is sitting at 21. I would just hope someone values him at 18 so we can benefit. It looks like a longshot to help us, but theres a chance I guess.
