Eagles' interest in Jonathan Greenard highlighted here.
Vikings prefer to keep Greenard, who wants new deal. A trade 'really not something (Minnesota's) trying to do,' per source.
But trade interest is there, and draft is natural spot for teams to take another crack.

I'd take him over McDonald. McDonald might be a little better run stuffer, but I think Woods can be a 3-down player. Also one you can move around a bit.

I agree wholeheartedly. He is insurance in case KM goes down with injury (or just sucks). If KM wants a $50mm annual salary for 5 years and has not taken us deep into the playoffs, they have a backup plan to at least "season" JJM for another year. Wentz is the proverbial veteran backup.

How do you have to navigate a salary cap crunch with a QB room that's taking about maybe $5mm in cap? I know this is down the road a little, but WTF are they going to do when they have to really pay a QB?

$58 million in cap space next year for 34 contracts. The last 17 roster spots brings that down to around $40-42 million. Some restructuring boosts that number up. Let’s hope we have a cap issue to navigate.

This Vikings draft will give us a peak into what the offense will look like in the future: Early TE pick: likely moving more to TE heavy sets like McVay’s Rams in 2025. Early WR pick: Same offensive we’ve seen since 2022 with WR3’s on the field for more than 65% of snaps. Does KOC finally adjust his offense to what’s best for the team? It’s not a coincidence that we’ve gone from seeing WR3s like Bisi Johnson and Chad Beebe to KJ Osborn (I know he was drafted by Rick) and Jalen Nailor. KOC’s offense uses 3 WR sets at an insane rate.

I certainly don't always nail the Vikings' draft pick as a prediction, but this go-round, I believe the team will end up with Clemson DT Peter Woods as the first pick of the event. This is my evidence: 1) He can get-got at either No. 18 or a slight trade back. 2) Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave played over 1,300 DT snaps last year. They don't work here anymore. Do we really think Levi Drake Rodriguez and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins are about to play 1,300 snaps? 3) The Vikings haven't drafted a DT in Rounds 1-3 in 13 years. Time to snap the drought. 4) I think Brian Flores has more pull in the organization with Kwesi Adofo-Mensah gone, and the last time Flores had his first pick in Miami, that was DT Christian Wilkins in 2019. 5) In 2023, the Vikings needed a WR. They picked Jordan Addison. In 2024, they needed a QB. They picked J.J. McCarthy. In 2025, they needed a guard. They picked Donovan Jackson. In 2026, they need a DT ... 6) The Vikings picked offensive players in Round 1 in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025. It's time to even the score with a defensive player. 7) Peter Woods is hard.

i'm glad the Woods talk is picking up steam...I would be perfectly fine with him or Sadiq. Probably prefer Woods in a trade-down, but not by too much.

NEWS: NFL teams received a letter today about Caleb Banks as he recovers from a surgically repaired bone in his left foot. Per ESPN sources, the letter states that after a CT scan on Tuesday that Banks is “on pace to be fully cleared for full football activities in early June.”
Hopefully he takes a little weight off. 315 is plenty.
