Notifications

The bell icon in the top navigation bar shows your unread notification count. Click it to see a dropdown of recent notifications — replies to your threads, @mentions, quotes, and more.

You can control exactly which events trigger a notification under Profile → Notification Preferences. Each type has its own toggle and saves instantly.

The types you can toggle:

• Replies to threads you started
• Replies in threads you participated in
• @mentions in posts
• Someone quoting your post
• Your thread being locked or unlocked
• Your thread being moved to another category
• @mentions in chat
• Direct messages

Account and moderation notifications (bans, warnings, username changes) are always delivered regardless of your preferences.

Direct Messages

You can send a private message to any member by clicking the envelope icon on their post or visiting their profile page. DMs are private — only you and the recipient can see them.

Your inbox lives under the envelope icon in the top navigation bar. You'll see a badge when you have unread messages.
