RIP. He was a great middle linebacker. Glad I am old enough to have seen him play. Great man, player, and Viking.

He was right at the end of his playing years when I started to watch. I remember seeing him speak at a youth conference in the twin cities when I was a mid teen. Seemed like the type of man who walked what he talked.

Yah, I got to see him and those 70's teams at their peak as well.

Thx for some great memories and RIP

“As good of a player that Jeff was, he was a better person — truly one of the best guys we had," former cornerback Bobby Bryant told the Vikings website. “You never heard anyone speak cross of Jeff. His faith was his guide, and he was not afraid to share it with people. He touched so many.”

Siemon started 124 of his 156 regular-season career appearances for the Vikings, beginning as an immediate contributor as a rookie. He wore No. 50 and roamed the defense behind the Purple People Eaters in the tail end of their Vikings tenures.

A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Siemon led the Vikings in tackles in 1973, ’74, ’76 and ’78. He is still No. 3 in Vikings history for career tackles with 1,375 behind teammates and Vikings Ring of Honor members Scott Studwell and Matt Blair.

He also forced key turnovers in the Vikings’ 1973 divisional-round game against Washington and NFC Championship Game vs. Dallas, helping the team to an appearance in Super Bowl VIII. He started that Super Bowl, as well as Super Bowl IX and XI.

Along with Studwell and Blair, the best of all Viking linebackers in my opinion. Rest In Peace Jeff.
