Johnny Hekker Punter
Signed with Vikings
Already hearing PA after the first shank: "What the Hekker was that?!?"
Older than dirt, but had a great average last year. He's attempted 26 passes in his career.

Hekker was 22nd in the NFL in average yards per punt last season and 26th in net yards, but the Vikings’ familiarity with him and his skills as a holder drew them to the veteran as Wright’s replacement.
Hekker is widely respected as a holder, which was one of Wright’s strengths in helping kicker Will Reichard to his All-Pro season.
The Vikings decided not to compete for Wright as the Saints offered him a four-year deal in free agency. Instead, they will add Hekker to a decorated special teams group that already included two All-Pros in Reichard and long snapper Andrew DePaola.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I agree with Ludford, think they need to bring some udfa's into camp to punt against Hekker.
Hekker is well past his prime. Ranked nearer the bottom in major punting metrics last season. His kicker (Joey Slye) missed 7 field goals but unclear if any of that was due to the hold. I would expect competition. https://t.co/SzOL72QG5z
