Whole lot of good defensive lineman hovering in that 18 range

So, after releasing both of our starting DTs and DT probably rising to the top of our draft needs, DJ has not a single DT going in the 1st round. Banks and Woods are 2nd rounders here and Lee Hunter goes ahead of them both. Only other DT on the list is McDonald, all four between 34 and 39.

If that holds, I have to think the Vikings go DB at 18 and DT in the 2nd. If the Vikings trade Greenard, Edge likely rises to a day-two need.

In contrast, GBN updated their big board on the 25th and they have four DT's in their top 32 players. It's uncommon to have so many big bodies at one position in the draft, but that looks to be the case at the DT position this year. I'd have no issue with the Vikings going DT at 18

They certainly need to do their due diligence with Greenard...But the repercussions of striking out on Allen/Hargrave is starting to rear its head more. That DL group is looking mighty thin (to be it nicely).

All at a time when I was hoping they would not have to blitz so often in 26 too.

Does that impact their thinking about moving one of the two D stalwarts they have in Gink/Greenard?

We'll see soon enough.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I think Caleb Banks could very well be our pick at 18

Anything's possible, but I don't think he'll go that high. But it would be fun to have him when we play Chicago.
