It's being speculated that Drew Dalman is retiring because he saw, first hand, the long-term effects of playing in the NFL. His father is Chris Dalman who played 7 seasons with the 49er's in the 90's.

But the timing of Drew's retirement is surprising, as Drew made the Pro Bowl last year for the first time.

$25M in career earnings is a ton of money but he had another $12-15M coming this year so nothing to sneeze at, even for him. Unfortunate for the Bears but good for him for making a probably very difficult decision to step away.

Does Ben Johnson hate that position? Last year it was Ragnow, this year Dalman.

And yes I know Johnson wasn't with Detroit when Ragnow retired. Just thought it odd.
