Can't help but be extremely happy for the young man. 1st NFL start. An UDFA. Great kid, I'm sure his whole family, friends and the University of Minnesota is beyond stoked for him later today. Former coaches that saw his potential, how smart he is, what a hard worker, etc. Lots of pride in his circles and rightly so. I think he's the first University of Minnesota QB grad to start a NFL game? I know he loves the university and vice versa.

I wish he had the table set a bit better for his first start, but that's how it goes. Tough sledding for sure on the road in Seattle. Uncle Sammy is going to want to lay it to the Vikings. Might get ugly, but I think this season is in tatters anyway. Anyway, good on ya Maxie for getting to The Show....best of luck.

I'm struggling to feel anything beyond, "meh". Hopefully Max can show something early and rally the team and this fan!

For me, its not about high hopes for a win, I don't expect that at all. AT ALL. But what an exciting and wonderful experience for Brosmer and his family. He's going to be pinching himself when he walks from the locker room into the stadium. Pretty damn cool.

Understatement of the year. Max is what he is, an UDFA who's in over his head. Really didn't have 'will make JJ look good' on my bingo card. The O-line is an utter and complete disappointment. Max's lack of mobility in the pocket is a massive weakness in today's NFL.

I disagree from a performance standpoint,  Brosmer threw more catchable passes than JJM,  he wasn't sailing the ball regularly and many of his shorter throws were on the money,  from a passing standpoint I think Brosmer looked better and if it weren't for a handful of bad drops and missed PI calls ( Jefferson drop to INT had the defender there early and pinned his arm IIRC)  he would clearly have had the better game as of late.

All that said,  Brosmer didnt show that he was ready to light it up either and would need the same excuses to stay with him over JJM so stick to the plan and keep working JJM if amd huge if here,  his mental status is ready,  if he isnt cocktail sure of himself then keep his ass on the bench,   no swagger no start,  he needs to really be itching to get back out there before I send him back out there.  Maybe a competition and then make it a game time decision.

Max doesn't have JJ's mobility, he'd be a lot easier to gameplan for. To say Max's performance was better than JJ's is something I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on, lol. 4 brutal INTs and the worst pick 6 I've seen in recent memory. For a guy that is supposed to be 'super smart', he sure as hell didn't play like it.

Max threw a higher % of catchable passes IMO that JJ has been showing over the last month or so.  A lot of the crys of receivers dropping passes from JJ were really poorly thrown balls with way to much zip on them to really be catchable,  yes there were plenty of WTF efforts by the receivers, but I thought Max showed more touch,  and better ball location on most of his passes yesterday, with the exception of a couple that got away from him.  just the passes to the RBs and Hock were much much better than we've seen from JJM.

The pick 6 was inexcusable,  the pick off Jet should have been a PI IMO, but the ball was well placed.  look like the DB had Jets arm pinned before the ball got there, and I am not recalling the specifics on the other 2 right now,  was thinking at least one of them wasnt Maxs fault, but cant recall for sure, was kind of checked out and was also kind of focusing on the blocking up front with the patchwork line.

I am not making excuses for Brosmer,  but when comparing the 2, remember 1 has been given every opportunity with the 1s that is possible,  the  other wasnt even discussed as a potential pro QB until 3 months ago and hasnt gotten shit for work with the starting receivers.

Its JJMs job as Max didnt steal the opportunity,  but I saw better reason for hope from the passes that Max threw than what we've been seeing from JJ the last few starts for him.

Its all good, I just don't agree.

This season has been something else......good grief.
