Vikings @ Bears
Bears will beat the hell out of the Vikings...so says this guy...

(via ESPN 1000 in Chicago)pic.twitter.com/fhY0INuSjPHaha a bears radio station with pro Chicago reporter. Seems legit. There is some risks with a rookie QB. The biggest issues with young QB's is reaction time and making the correct decision. From minimal data JJ looks good. Caleb by his decision making only was responsible for the most QB sacks of any QB removing the effect of line issues. The Vikings will have 5 very good lineman, the question is how in sync will they be. I think they win with 25% chance they win by more than 2 touchdowns. I expect the running backs to have a hey day.
I'm sticking with my slobber-knocker game prediction
19/16 Vikings win
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I see it similarly. I think the Vikings will give Caleb fits, and there will be sacks and turnovers as a result. But Chicago has some weapons that should concern us on those occasions when CW is able to get rid of the ball. But I could also see JJ struggling a bit too in his first game. The team who runs the ball better might be the winner. I think that will be us, but in a low scoring affair.
Vikings 23 Bears 17
I think the game will be won by defense. Vikings 28 Bears 17.

Odunze & Moore will be a handful. Front 7 hopefully brings A game.
Thats who gives me the biggest pause.

Am I seriously the only one that thinks we absolutely throttle the Bears?
27-7, in a fucking beatdown
JJM 16-21 for 265 2 TD 1 INT
Jones/Mason combine for 140 Rush yards 1 TD
Defense: 4 sacks 2 INT

Yup. I think we get a defensive TD off a strip sack. I think the rushing yards are higher than 140.

I think a Viking beat down is well within the range of potential outcomes. My hesitation comes from seeing JJ struggle a bit against the Patriots in that first joint practice. He made up for it the next day with what was a sensational performance. But therein lies my concern: did he learn from his mistakes in that first practice, or was this a glimpse of some inconsistencies we might see from him this year?

Well JJM explained that he overprepared using film from their first preseason game and then they played nothing like that against him. So day 2, he prepared from film from day 1 and lit them up.
So the bears may try to disguise some stuff, but not sure. Their DC is pretty much straight up, play deep and make the QB beat them with small ball. So I think that plays into our hands, run the ball, take what is given to us and be methodical.

What's funny is in my original draft I had JJM for 1/1 and had the other TD attributed to the defense, but I didn't want to seem too greedy :D
I hope this thread ages well...

I think Ben Johnson has Flores’s number. I just don’t think Williams will be sharp enough in their offense game 1 to really execute Johnson’s plan well enough to deal with Flores. I have more faith that JJM will be able to execute against the Bears defense. I think the one wildcard will be the Bears running the ball against our defense.
I think it will be a relatively low scoring game 23-13 Vikings (1 defensive TD, 1 passing TD, 3 FG for us :: 1 rushing TD, 2 FG for them).

This is exactly how I see it.
But I think closer to 21-10 Vikings...of course, I hope.
24-13 Vikings.
We will get the ground game going and then break their backs with the intermediate pass.
Johnson, will try to pound it and scheme chunk plays. Can Caleb deliver? I don’t think so.
Vikes 24, Bears 13

I, like most people actually have no idea what will transpire on Monday night, in Soldier Field. I am hoping for a win no matter what, but I have to say, I like the way you think! :)
Born in 1961 - Still waiting for just one.... ;)

Bears game will be similar to Week 1 2024 at New York Giants.. vikes win 27-13
Oh boy...no pressure at all, kid.
JJ McCarthy’s Dad says around 200-250 friends/family will be in attendance for his son’s first ever NFL game near his hometown on Monday night, he mentioned on Waddle and Silvy via YouTube. pic.twitter.com/7L0zzcaP2u
