Nice work, first in. I see a 4th was given up, so Minnesota caved and Carolina dipped a bit. JJ will be happy about this, this is his guy. They spend time together in Minnesota. I hope it turns out to be more impactful than I initially think, but I know from the intangible side its so good for McCarthy.

It's a 27-4th offset with a 27-5th.  We gave up a 5th for a 7th in the 26 draft.  If you've viewing this versus a 6th pick for next year, it's an overpay, but hardly a fleecing.

I think this works out well for the Vikings, as JJM was already working out with AT, and the latter has experience in our system...

...beyond also having near-legendary status in our record books.

If he matches/passes the 600+ yards and scores he turned in last season (that involving missing time with injury) and becomes another real target to take heat off of the JJ/JJM connection...a 4th will be cheap as hell.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

He was working out with JJM over the summer

Me too. I like the trade. Kwesi was at a big disadvantage ... Vikings wanted (maybe needed) Thielen and the Panthers knew it. All things considered, I think Kwesi did well and he got it done.

Vikings are now going to have to waive someone.

I kept thinking steep but looked at in more. 5th this year, a 4th 2027 (valued) like a 5th and Vikings get a 5th rounder back (6th) - however those picks could end up being very close together. Honestly not bad at all. We got a couple 6th in other trades can trade 1 for a future 5th and basically be back to neutral on picks. Plus 1 year of Thielen to give JJ a security blanket. Man 3 deep will be crazy, Thielen, JJ and Addison woof. CB's is the only question mark.

4th round pick.. not bad. With Kwesi that would be a player he cuts 2 years after drafting him.  :P

Just as I feared. Overpaid for a washed up WR because he's a fan favorite. Theilen wasn't even worth 1 5th and now we've already depleted our 2027 draft capital. Should have just brought back KJ.

Appears the draft pick from the Panthers to Vikings, a conditional 7th round pick in 2026, is at least a 7th rounder, could be a 2026 6th rounder.

Charlotte Observer‘s Mike Kaye tweeted, ‘Per league source, conditions for the 7th round pick heading to Vikings from Panthers: Becomes a 2026 sixth-round pick if Adam Thielen is not active for 10 games or not on 53-man roster for 14 games. He played 10 games last year, while dealing with a hamstring injury.”
