J.J. McCarthy has extreme confidence in his accuracy

To be successful, an NFL quarterback needs to have confidence. Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy is brimming with it.
Asked about his passing skills by reporters on Thursday, McCarthy was blunt.
“I think I’m one of the, you know, most accurate guys out there,” McCarthy said, “and just being able to take a day-to-day and, you know, really hone in on just every single throw. It’s not just, you know, ‘The ball was completed.’ It’s, ‘Did I give him a runner’s ball?’ ‘Did I put it on the right pad for him to turn a certain way?’ So, you know, just being able to really lean into that as one of my strengths is something that I always have to be extremely hard on, every single throw.”
So far, he’s backing it up. And if he performs in the games that count the way he has in practice, we’ll look back at the hazy uncertainty of the early offseason and laugh about Minnesota’s seeming uncertainty about trusting their 2024 evaluation and going all in with the player they moved up to pick with the 10th selection in the draft.

Florio's actually the prototypical Viking fan. Sour, cynical, always the victim, can't have anything nice.

Everyone will come around eventually after JJ McCarthy puts the NFL on notice this season.
I don't know how people see what they see sometimes. I think it's got to be laziness. Because I don't know how anyone could watch even just 5 minutes of McCarthy's tape and think arm strength was a problem for him.
There were (and still are) legit concerns about him. The one-speed thing? Yep. The run-the-ball and play defense QB who rarely had to play from behind? Yep. But examples of arm strength, escapability, and off-platform throws are all there if you're willing to look.

Yes, that's one reason he peddled the Falcons must give big compensation to the Vikings for tampering with Kirko bullshit. It literally made no sense, had no precedent and was never gonna happen. But it did cause rubes to hump themselves about it on social media which maybe was the goal. Bullshit is his currency.
He's an ex-lawyer and based on the flimsy, overly dramatic and often just plain wrong or delusional arguments he pushes every time he comments on any NFL-related dispute, getting out of the law and into the professional b.s. realm was a good career choice.
Why? Because, as Cowherd says, he doesn't have any wow traits? Like he doesn't have great arm strength? Doesn't have great escapability or speed? Doesn't have the IT factor or requisite leadership and intangibles?
Man, this Michigan "system" stigma is stuck to JJ like shit to a shovel.
“The quarterback that I think is gonna potentially have the biggest fall off is Caleb Williams.”@MaggieGray thinks Caleb Williams is the sophomore NFL QB most likely to disappoint this year, but @AndrewBogusch thinks it will be JJ McCarthy pic.twitter.com/EjhJ9bCVlu
