Max Brosmer
Getting some good vibes from the Brosmer kid. A lot to like about these plays. Check out Huber's perfectly executed zone block in the first clip and a well-managed 1v1 in the next.
Max Brosmer had a really good debut on Saturday. The one trait that separated him from the rest of the draft class was throwing over the middle with anticipation. Brosmer showcased that here pic.twitter.com/d2mwHgbxyp

Brosmer has the temperament and chill in the pocket to have a chance. Smart. Quick release and can throw with anticipation. I think he's got potential QB2 written all over him, just needs a year of seasoning as QB3. He's got NFL game manager aura, which is perfect for winning a game or two as QB2 in the future. Competency outside the pocket or off-script is going to suffer, that'll be his weakness. Good leader.Needs to keep stacking good outings the next 2 games and he'll be under serious consideration for the roster as QB3, but they'll need to keep 3 QBs on the roster because he'd definitely get poached off the PS.
Pretty sure NFL rules require the poaching team to put him on their active roster. Kinda hard to see that happening with a mostly unheard of UDFA QB. The Vikings can protect 4 players on their PS each week. He might be a good candidate for that.

Correct but to get on the PS he has to clear waivers either as a camp cut or they could put him on the 53 and cut him later, but either way he will be exposed to other teams grabbing him. Once he gets there though, they can protect him if they want to.
That said, there are always guys who show up in preseason at various positions, it's not really the big deal that fans make of it. Yes, he could get poached but I'd make it maybe a 1 in 10 chance of actually happening. Remember camp hero QB Kyle Sloter who had the fans drooling never had any problem clearing waivers, and his entire NFL career was just bouncing to various team's practice squads and never actually playing in a real game.

Sure, but according to Kyle, the Vikings thought he was too good and didn't want a QB controversy. Yes, he actually said that. And no, he was not joking.

I'm a Gopher fan and U of Mn graduate. Hoping the best for Max, he looked very good against 3rd/4th stringers. Agree totally that he "needs to keep stacking good outings over the next 2 games"!
Would he be the first gopher QB to make the team or practice squad? Hmm, after some searching, Billy Cockerham was a UDFA on the practice squad for a year (2000) with team transitioning him to DB. Nope, U of Mn has never been bigtime QB mill! LOL
If the Vikings feel good about Brosmer's long-term potential, they should be smart about how they handle his status on the team. I'd hate to see a situation like we had with Jake Browning who looked cool and calm in preseason and then Cincy poached him and he's been a great backup for them.
