Vet minimum is all I’d wager on Alexander. Or something heavily vested in incentives.

This is why the Packers couldn't trade him and especially at his salary: he's unreliable. And GB really wanted some comp for him in a trade, I think they made a strategic mistake in that was their Plan B and the market was not there for him in a trade. And there was some bad blood on both sides as its frustrating for team management and coaches for the guy being injured so much, but they were still interested in negotiating a new deal with him. He told them to pound sand. He's going to play with a chip on his shoulder for his next team, how many games that ends up being is the problem.

Sources: The #Packers and #Bills held trade talks this offseason centered around CB Jaire Alexander, but talks ultimately fell through and Buffalo moved on.
It’s unclear if the Bills will revisit things now that Alexander has been released — especially since they spent a first-round pick on Maxwell Hairston — but they were a team that had shown real interest.

Packers president Mark Murphy on Jaire Alexander release: "The reality is for the last four years for Jaire, it's about half of the games that he's been able to play. So, we kind of have been used to it."
The #Vikings were one of 8 teams that @NFLonCBS mentioned as a potential landing spot for now released CB Jaire Alexander. Their reasoning:

Be kind of serendipitous if Jaire is the post-prime, coming off an injury, ex-Packer great we sign this offseason. I'd much prefer Alexander over the other guy.
If Miami can't find a trading partner for Ramsey and decide to release him, I'd take him every day of the week over Alexander. He'd be a helluva lot cheaper, has considerably less of an injury history, and at this point in his career can play a hybrid CB/S role which I'm sure Flores would love.

Jaire Alexander's defensive coordinator for his first three seasons in the NFL?

Pettine obviously is very knowledgable of him so we'll see if Minnesota has any interest. He's super cocky and a big talker, not sure he fits into the culture or not....maybe he would. And he won't come cheap. But healthy there is zero doubt he'd help the Vikings in 2025. Ramsey is going to be 31 years old in October and has already played for 3 teams. I'd rather not give up comp for Ramsey and like the idea of just money for Alexander. Ideally in a perfect world, I'd pass on both but I think cornerback is currently the team's weak spot.
I wouldn't give up any comp for Ramsey either. There is a good possibility that Miami doesn't find a trading partner and just outright releases him, but I believe they're still on the hook for his salary this year so he wouldn't be as expensive as Alexander might be. He hasn't missed many games in the last 5 years compared to Alexander, and factor that he played in LA while KOC was there so there is some familiarity.
Honestly, I'd pass on both as well but the DB depth (especially CB) does have me a bit worried.

I'm just as worried about safety and running back. The roster is stacked everywhere else, but those three units do seem to lack quality depth. If we're in little nickel, we're one sprained ankle away from seeing McGlothern or Okudah. If we're in big nickel, we're one concussion protocol away from seeing Bubba Bolden or Jay Ward. And we're one tight hammy to an injury prone 30-year-old running back from seeing Ty Chandler and his bullfighter style pass blocking technique attempting to protect our franchise QB.
Why would you invest ten bucks in someone who is only there half the time?

Agreed. Those might be spots where they look at players come cutdown day. Or inevitably trade a 2035 7th round pick to whatever team signs Cam Akers.

On these type of players, I try to remember the Percy Harvin trade. Was that a bad trade for Seattle, giving up a first for a guy who wound up being hurt most of the time for them? Absolutely. But he caught like 10 balls in the Super Bowl and they probably don't win it without him. Alexander is the calibre of player that makes you consider moves like these. I still think he winds up elsewhere but I doubt anyone will be mad if he signs here. Because you never know. Maybe he plays a full season in a contract year.

Wolfson adds that there hasn’t been “any steam” on any of the available corner backs. The #Vikings seem confident in their current CB room. https://t.co/tv3fAMSUBd

Hence why he's available. Its a risk for any team that signs him. My guess is that several teams will be very interested as he can fit the CB2 role extremely well for some contenders. But for how much and how many games will he play?

I'm told 6 teams made immediate inquiries about CB Jaire Alexander's upon his release from the #Packers Monday, per league source.
Brian Flores on Isaiah Rodgers: "He's been on my radar since he was at Umass. ... When the opportunity presented itself that we could maybe acquire him, I was all in. I'm happy we got him. He's got great football IQ and acumen. That's something we've stressed."

Very underrated signing. Might get some reps as PR too.

Every june 1st cut that has ties to the Vikings in any way is gonna be considered to be signed.
Kwesi has put himself in a place to make additional personnel moves and improve the roster.,
at this time of year that's a bonus.
if no deals emerge, they'll use the cap on extensions.
Kwesi rocks!
