But it’s a returning player that might have the biggest impact! #skol pic.twitter.com/lDRAGKQ1hn
Must watch tv.

I think having 3 legit pass rushers is huge in today's NFL where you can scheme mismatches and get after the QB. I think the Vikings have the top edge group in the NFL. Turner is going to ball out this year in that 3rd role and gives us invaluable depth. I have zero concerns about Dallas Turner. And if anybody needed a smile put on their face today, refer to the video below..
I think Gibbs is still feeling that one.

Jared Verse played 834 snaps had 4 sacks 66 tackles.

Dallas Turner played 300 snaps had 3 sacks 20 tackles.
Just sayin
Food for thought.

Gonna be a process. Kid won’t grow into his ass for another couple years. I expect marginal improvement this year. If he’s gonna be all world it’ll probably be a year or 2 away.
The Vikings asked him to get up to 265 this off-season and be showed up to OTAs looking bigger and stronger. He's going to be a beast this year.

Quick glimpse on last video confirms. He should have less issue holding edge vs the run. Snap count will nearly triple. Stoked to see him.

Where did you read this? I've been hoping this was their plan, he needs the muscle weight. Not at Alabama anymore, kid....big boys everywhere. He's only 6'3", I'm surprised they want that much weight on him....he was 247 lbs at the Combine. He's just a baby as well, just turned 22 in February. A good sign....but things to prove.
265 at 6'3 doesnt sound right to me either.
Parsons is listed as 6'3 245,
Abdul Carter 6'3 258
Jalon Walker 6'1, 245
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

265, wow. Do they want him to be Jared Verse? If that's who they wanted, thats who they should've drafted. Dallas Turner is not Jared Verse and never will be. But the reverse is also true. Turner is a faster, quicker, longer, leaner, bendier, more athletic and more explosive pass rusher, much more in the mold of Micah Parsons. Maybe just try letting him be that first.
As long as he doesn’t lose quickness, I think another 13lbs isn’t too cumbersome.

Seems wrongheaded to me, but if that's what Flores wants, then get the kid to Carls Jr. He might know a little bit more about how his pieces fit together than I do. He sure knew exactly what he wanted in Greenard, who is 6-3, 263, by the way.

Good point. He might also be one of those guys who has a hard time keeping his weight up in season.

But its not 13 pounds.....247 to 265 is 19 pounds, on a 6'3" frame. And if Greenard is 263 lbs., I'll eat my hat. He looks like a linebacker, 250 lbs max.
I had it in my head he was 252 for some reason. Maybe they want him to play some 5T in pass rush situations.

He’d be about the same size as Patrick Jones II. Maybe it means less drop backs and more pass rush.

I think y'all are making too much of him adding some muscle. He's a 21 year old professional athlete. Vikings wanted him to add some strength in the off-season, and they were happy he added 15-ish pounds of good weight. If you saw him at OTAs, he still looks like a lean machine.
If anything, it shows this kid gets it. Coaches ask him to do something, he does it. Training the right way, doing what he needs to do to have himself in position to play a big role on this team in his second year.
Let's be excited the kid is ready to be unleashed.

He's young, that's for sure. But no matter how you slice it, adding almost 20 lbs of muscle probably isn't going to happen for Turner. He does look bigger than last year, but not a bunch which is probably better for his skill sets: 255 lbs. is probably his sweet spot.

I'll say this: he looks a lot bigger. I wouldn't be surprised if he put on 15+ lbs by looking at OTA footage. You might be right, MadG....he might be pushing 260+ lbs. Hopefully during some interview upcoming he's asked about his offseason workouts and the muscle he's added.
It looks like his lower body is bigger. He was a little too high cut IMO last year.
