Crazy Talk...
Just thinking about all the recent acquisitions and evaluating roster, depth, and impact players which brought me to wondering if the Vikings would even consider a receiver early like Emeka Egbuka or a speedster like Matthew Golden to round out our receiving core? We know KOC's offense is centered around passing the football and putting his weapons in positions of advantage, so would adding another legit weapon in the passing game not make some sense? I know there will be plenty of scoffing, but we will be having to pay Addison probably this upcoming offseason, receiver is a premier position, and taking another talented receiver gives us insurance in case of injury and makes defending our offense a whole lot harder in multi receiver sets. Nailor has never taken those reigns and ran with it. Probably more of a 4th or 5th receiver. I could see some value in taking a receiver. Thoughts?
I'm ok drafting Addison's replacement. I'd prefer an OG, DT or CB though. I wouldn't draft a RB in the first.
I don't think we'll take a receiver over a back, but yeah, I think it's possible—especially if we're able to add more picks in a trade down. Was hoping we could add Rondale Moore. I don't think many realize just how electric that guy was at Purdue. And we still need a returner.

Good point on kick returner
Addison will be in his 3rd year in 2025. With the 5th year option, we have him under contract for the next three seasons. Don't think we need to worry about extending him until after the 2026 season when he'll be playing on the 5th year option in 2027.
That said, I think we should always be looking for WRs with KOCs offense. If Egbuka fell to 24, we'd be foolish not to take him but I think he'll go earlier than that. Unless a blue chip WR is there (don't think Golden is one), I don't see us taking one early this year unless we trade down and value is there on Day 2.

True but with the rising cost of contracts, especially at receiver, if we decide we absolutely want to retain Addison, the sooner we get him signed to an extension...the cheaper it will be for us in the long run..
Let me throw another name at you. What if Tet McMillan is sitting there at #24? Would that be a player that moves the needle? I think he has slipped a little and Golden has overtaken him on some draft boards. It's possible he could be there
Well, since Kwesi has put together a championship quality roster, I’d look towards continuity. Our iDL room is definitely not young, so replenishing here is vital. I’d still hit the DL first before looking elsewhere. Harmon/Alexander followed up with Peguse/West would be an excellent start.
We control Addison for another 3 years. Spending a premium pick in a weak class is pretty much a nonstarter for me. Now, if I can get to say slot 80 and grab Savion Williams…giggity.

I'm just wondering about a possible suspension for Addison because of the incident in California

IDL
IOL
CB
anything else better be a damn amazing value.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
McMillan ran 4.48 at his pro day today at 6'4"/220

I'd be good with any of those lineman. I think this corner class is a little underwhelming and hell to the no on Starks
I think there’s a lot of room for us to be flexible in who we take this year both for short term impact, and for replacing a guy in 3 years to lower cap costs. I’m not super on point with draft prospects yet, but I think both a pure deep threat and a Harvin type playmaker would add a lot of value to our offense as would a premium RB. I’m less convinced that a good all around receiver would be that impactful as you really aren’t expecting your young QB to be getting to his 3rd or 4th reads, and there’s only so many balls to go around, but if you have a guy that can burn a team for committing a safety to JJ or Addison they will be very impactful in their limited touches.
OG/CB is probably more responsible, but...

Kenneth Grant has entered the chat for the first time, at least for me. Before free agency, I dismissed him because we needed pass rushers on the DL, not a two-down nose. But now I think a nose is a luxury we might be able to afford to take a chance on. Could he be Dexter Lawrence? I doubt it, but what if he is? I think it's more likely he's Mazi Smith or Jordan Davis.
Harrison Phillips is signed for the next two seasons, so I still think we'd take CB, RB and Safety over a nose, but I do think it's back among the options.
