I'm all for this if we can fill CB, DT and IOL needs in free agency.

NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein gave TreVeyon Henderson and Jahmyr Gibbs essentially the same prospect grade, 6.38 and 6.37 respectively.  Very similar strengths and weaknesses as well.

I do think TreVeyon Henderson is a stud and would give the offense a big play addition like a Gibbs does for Detroit. I also think he's going to be gone by pick #24 and be the first RB taken ahead of Jeanty. Henderson will go in the mid-to-late teens IMO.

I do think Henderson could go early, considering how well he catches the ball, pass protects and doesn't fumble (667 and zero fumbles). KOC will love him. But I'd be pretty surprised if he went ahead of Jeanty. School and level of competition could hurt Jeanty...a little maybe...but I'd be pretty surprised if any back goes ahead of him. In terms of just running the football, his wiggle, burst and contact balance are the best in show. Kid's magic.

I like Henderson as a prospect. Just worried about his injury history, and if it's worth selecting a RB in the first round who might not be more than part of a committee on the team that selects him.

Jimmy will have a stroke if we draft a RB 1st lol!

I'm good with it, but only if FA falls the right way. It's exactly what a young qb needs. Give JJ a stud RB, better protection and the weapons already on the roster?

Giddy Up!!

Hendersons injury history is troublesome to me as well. But if that checks out? He is a RB big enough to more than hold his own on the field and is reminiscent of Gibbs in explosiveness.

The other RB I wouldn't sleep on is Judkins, I think he's got a future in the NFL too - a good future. I would consider Judkins over the kid from Iowa.

And the more I read about this draft, the more I am leaning toward classifying it as a poor one...Outside of DT or RB that is.

I’ve heard it mentioned @"purplefaithful" that there are only two bluechip prospects in this draft…! Can that be…!?

I would prolly lose my shite if we pick a back in the 1st not named Jeanty.

I like this guy in the 5th. Runs a little upright, not the best in pass pro, and fumbled 3x in 210 touches but a nice prospect if he can take some coaching.

I told DJ if he mocked a S to us again I’d drive to App State and desecrate the football field.

You’re welcome.

5 games with a broken bone in his foot.

3 games with undisclosed.

Not sure that this is a red flag.

AD had a broken collarbone.

That being said, we’d have to fill a ton of holes in FA for this to happen.

For arguments sake, would you rather have:

Darius Alexander and JCM

Or

Henderson and CJ West?

Really hard to say without knowing how FA pans out. Do we swing and miss on Milton Williams like we did with Wilkins because he’s not at our number? Trey Smith is likely to get near OT dollars. CB will be outrageous. I’m thinking we fill at best two major holes and the rest is guys like Griffin and Gilmore late in FA signings.

If Henderson is Gibbs 2.0 he’s probably not there. Jeanty isn’t getting passed Jeruah.

End of the offseason I want an iDL who an OC has to plan around and an iOL that can get a hole open in the deep red zone.

But, damn if I can get a score from anywhere RB, I’m phoning my doctor 4 hours after the draft. JCM probably doesn’t have that top end. Harvey does, but his pass pro needs work.

Of course, if I’ve got Kevin Williams 2.0, I’m also phoning my doctor. Absolutely watershed year at RB and the best iDL class in recent memory.

The injury history is hard for me to accept at 24. I just don't see us drafting at 24 either. Judkins I think is better after researching them well. The RB class is deep. I see no way we go RB, if we stay at 24 especially.

I don't see a RB at 24. There are too many other pressing needs. I think they will trade back out of the first round anyway.
The top running back in this draft is not going to be the difference that adds up to a deep playoff run. JJM needs a running game but I feel improving the O-line will be a more effective way to achieve that goal. A RB in the later rounds should be fine if the line can open some holes.
