2025 Free Agency
I think at the top of nearly everyone's wishlist is RG Trey Smith. Sounds like he's a big fan of the Skol chant too. I think we should let him hear it more often.
“The SKOL chant is something different man… the SKOL chant, that was dope. First time we played there (Minnesota), it was amazing.”#Chiefs G Trey Smith had high praise for U.S. Bank Stadium when he played there last year 😏

I've been reading about this free agency class for the last few days and it's making me even more fired up for the NFL Scouting Combine. Not a lot of excitement on the used car lot this year. It's a good year to buy new.

I’ll say it again, louder for those in back, Trey Smith will be getting OT money. Not a hot take but one based in history.

It will be OT money....until the next OT comes due....who will get QB money...until the next QB comes due...and so on and so on. Prefer to diversify our spending than spend the biggest chunk of it on the least impactful position in football.

I'm not sure about that. Watching very little run game and inside pressure against the QB all year, I'll take IOL for $800, Alex.
Yeah, we're definitely in need of a serious upgrade there. Not saying it's not important. Just that it's not AS important as positions like WR, CB, DT, OT, C, and on down the list. In fact, I'll dig it up if I can find it, but a few years ago, someone did a study and ranked positions by importance or impact on the outcome of a game. Guard ranked ahead of only nose tackle in terms of importance. Obviously scheme changes this for some teams, and some positions (RB for example)--evolve based on trends.

Byron Murphy reportedly will not take a "hometown discount" and is looking for a contract that pays him between $19 and $21 million per year annually.

See you later!!! Will get paid like a 1 and perform like a 3. I believe he is your definition of a FA bust capitalizing on a one year wonder big INT year.
A new punt returner is a “primary target” for the #Vikings to improve the special teams this offseason, per @alec_lewis. pic.twitter.com/WoTn7ZDbjl

Sign me up, he's better than Gilmore.

Agree. Plus, he's 34 years old. I tend to think the Vikings are going to target a younger CB.

The Jets will save $29.9M in salary cap space by releasing Davante Adams. He had no guaranteed money remaining on his contract. https://t.co/gH3BMzlC19 pic.twitter.com/4DaQNV2WeR

Adam Schefter's answer to that question has changed significantly compared to what he said Tuesday. Let's break it down.
Schefter on Tuesday: "We’ll see if a team like the New York Giants makes a compelling enough offer to pry Sam Darnold away. My guess, as we tape this, is no. My guess is the most sensible option is Minnesota."
By Friday, however, his stance changed when asked by KFAN's Paul Allen about the likelihood of Darnold returning to Minnesota.
"Not high," Schefter said. "Again, as we go over all these scenarios, they're all in play. But I think the Vikings is a down-low scenario. I don't view it as a likely scenario right now."
Something clearly changed to get Schefter to change his opinion in the span of three days, and it's an indication that Minnesota may be preparing to lose Darnold in free agency and hand the quarterback keys to 22-year-old J.J. McCarthy.
Can u imagine the # of texts going back and forth between players right now?
I mean the recruiting has got to be eye-opening!
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
