This guy is trying to play the en vogue "disgruntled player" card and become such a malcontent that the team grants his wish and trades him. I am so sick and tired of these players who sign these big ass contracts, then one day decide the team can't win a championship so they try to become as big of a malcontent as possible to get their way. James Harden has played this card at multiple locations. Things sure have changed since the golden era of the 80's in the NBA. I hope Pat Riley continues to give Jimmy the middle finger and does everything in their power to hold him to the contract he signed and fine his ass into oblivion. People wonder why the NBA ratings are shit...well here's a prime example as to why.

Butler is playing on his last year. I can see his point, but not how he is going about it. They won't commit to him, he wants to end his career elsewhere with someone who will commit to him. Just trade him and they both can move on with their lives.

It's not a secret why fan interest in the NBA is declining steadily. Players who don't care, don't play, spend time acting selfish and stupid and greedy, and are paid mind-boggling amounts of money for that. The inmates run the asylum.

Not to mention I'm told many games are now boring 3-pointer chuck-it-up fests. I have to assume that because I stopped watching a long time ago. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There are a ton of 3's being chucked up in todays game. I will agree with that. I don't mind it as much as others do. I think it's declining because you don't have any real marquee players anymore. After Jordan, you had Kobe, Shaq, Wade, Melo, James, Durant, Steph, KG, Spurs and now we don't really have much. The NBA wants so bad for Anthony Edwards to be that guy, but we can't seem to get the team right.

That and all the player rest days. You might drop $600 on a ticket thinking you are going to go see LeBron James play only for him to not play that night because it's the second night of a back to back. Referees are awful league wide. Prima dona player attitudes where as said above, "the inmates are running the asylum " The league really has become non pleasing to watch.

I get the rest days. Jordans last year in the league at 40 still played all 82 games and averaged 37.0 minutes, which would lead the league right now. That is the big thing, and I agree. The rest days.

The NBA is a lot different as far as salary structure (cap, aprons, luxury tax, etc). Jimmy Butler is 35 and had multiple injuries, he might be in for a reality check

For the money he's being paid, he should be playing his heart out.

Buttface was dead to me when he pulled his shenanigans on the Wolves. Heat knew he was a cancer but added him anyway. Maybe if someone drops an anvil on my junk, I could muster up a tear.

Good! Enough with these players trying to malcontent their way out of town and out of theor contracts. I applauded Pat Riley and the Heat organization taking a hard line stance

These NBA players make absurd amounts of money so shitbags like Butler can just act however he wants. He made what, $45 million last year? His career earnings I believe are over $300 million. He's 35 years old. The NBA is a garbage product to me, college is far superior. I honestly can't remember the last time I watched an NBA game....maybe 20+ years ago? Its probably longer.

Agreed.  As much as I want to like the Timberwolves, the NBA has such a crappy product.  Watching 80 3’s get jacked a night when some nights both teams only shoot 30%?   Almost unwatchable.

I like the 3 point part of the game, but I have to agree, teams jacking up 3s just to shoot them without making them is hard to watch. It's one thing if you have a team that is built to shoot them, but some teams are just throwing them up at will.
