BREAKING SAM PROBABLY COMING BACK
Pelissero thinks Darnold will be back in MN next season. Said it in an interview with Meathead on the Fan.
Had an interview with someone high up in the organization reporters don’t just put this out there. It is obviously true.

Saying he's "probably" coming back is silly. Is it possible? Sure. He could find a cold market out there after the last couple games and realize that his best opportunity is in Minnesota. But he's likely going to get at least a $25M-$40M offer from one of several teams who are desperate for a starting QB. Vikings aren't likely to match that. And they sure as hell won't match the term. I think they believe that JJM is the QBOTF.From the Vikings perspective, they may want some security if JJM struggles either with playing or staying healthy. But isn't that what Daniel Jones is for?
Agreed, Dimes may have more impact on their decisions than what's apparent to us fans.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

That has been the report about him since we drafted him. I was impressed when he came into rookie minicamp knowing the whole playbook. That told me he was all in on the game. You can't teach that.

lol
Well, of course he’s going to say that my God lololo

It sounds like the same shit we were hearing about Christian ponder

just a guess here, but I’m thinking they might have more faith in the guy that had one of the best years in Viking history at the quarterback position
My god people seriously? Lmao
I mean, what did you really expect him to say yeah the guy I drafted looks like absolute garbage come on people don’t be so naïve.
Upon further review, this could just be the Vikings angling for trade comp. "We want him back and we're going to tag him. If you want him, give us a draft pick."

Exactly what that is. It gives teams the chance to call on Darnold. Saying, you will tag him, what is the price you are looking for?
I dont feel they have any plans to keep him.

Because you are dead wrong. Period. End of discussion.
I just looked up 4 different "reports" as I know you are just throwing shit out there now.
According to reports from training camp, J.J. McCarthy has been performing well, showing impressive arm strength and ability to extend plays, exceeding expectations as a rookie quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, with many considering his performance to be "sharp" and "good" in practice sessions.
Most observers have noted that McCarthy has been looking good in training camp, showcasing his physical talent and ability to make plays outside of the pocket.
His arm strength, from his college career at Michigan, has been highlighted as a positive aspect of his play.
While some reports mention initial struggles with quick decision-making, overall, McCarthy appears to be progressing well in this area. Which is normal for a rookie. His progression was faster than coaches anticipated. Going through reads faster than they thought for a rookie.
Coaches put J.J. McCarthy out there with the 2's on offense against the 1's on defense. McCarthy out played Darnold that practice. The next day, they did not do that. They really want J.J. to sit his rookie year it seems and are pushing Darnold it looks like.
His performance has reportedly made the quarterback competition with veteran Sam Darnold more interesting. Forcing the Vikings to have a serious conversation on their thoughts to sit him.
Reports lmao gee wonder where the reports were coming from?? Come on man you can’t possibly be that dim???
So I’m supposed to put a lot of stock in the general manager that passed on Jared verse to pick Dallas Turner lol
Come on man don’t be such homers
Only 2 guys in front of his target lol

Smart Money(Vegas) is actually not on the Vikings
Vegas betting odds are quite interesting, to say the least. On Wednesday morning, BetOnline.Ag put out some favorable spots for Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Here's what they look like.
Sam Darnold's Next Team Best Odds
Pittsburgh Steelers - 5/1 (+500)
Las Vegas Raiders - 11/2 (+550)
New Orleans Saints - 6/1 (+600)
New York Giants - 13/2 (+650)
Indianapolis Colts 7/1 (+700)
New York Jets 7/1 (+700)
Seattle Seahawks 7/1 (+700)
Cleveland Browns 12/1 (+1200)
Miami Dolphins 12/1 (+1200)
Tennesee Titans 12/1 (+1200)
Darnold helped Minnesota get to a 14-3 record, but they ended up getting bounced in the Wild Card round by the Rams after a poor showing. He finished 2025 with career highs, posting 4,319 passing yards after going 361/545 (66.2%), having 35 touchdowns and 12 picks in the process. He also got elected to the Pro Bowl.

Many knew Turner needed time to develop. He was very young. Hasn't even grown into his body yet. His talent was amazing however. Verse is 4 years older than Turner. Not hard to figure this one out.
Reports were coming from the media that were there watching.... Not sure who the dim was in, but if I had to bet, it would be you.

What a shock a homer sticking up for the Vikings pic you can’t honestly say you’d rather have Turner

Far from a Homer, dude. If anyone knows me, that isn't who I am. I am about done entertaining you, however. It's like trying to follow a 3rd grader at a first grade education level.
Yes, I would rather have Turner to be honest. Younger and his ceiling is much higher. More talented.
I used the same source as you, actually DH.

Link? Lol
So since no one wanted to answer the question, let me ask it again if the Vikings loved JJ McCarthy, why did they try and make a trade for Justin Herbert before the draft and then during the draft trade up with New England to get Drake Maye?????
Bueller Bueller..
FFS people. Just say no to drugs

Why wouldn’t they? You see if Herbert is available. You check on Maye if you like his size better? Obviously JJM plus 2 1sts is better.
KOC Presser today: "I think Sam showed the league what he can do. He showed the NFL on what he can do and what he did in just one year. Sam should be very proud of his body of work and what he put together to show. His preparation day in and day out, I think he proved to the league on what he brings."
Everything was past tense. He never referenced Sam building on what he did here or anything. He never used the words Vikings, this team, his team or anything else when referring to Sam. Just the NFL and the league. Hes being tagged and traded for sure. No doubt about it now. There was no endorsement whatsoever of his coming back or anything.

Do the Vikings want QB Sam Darnold back? Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, Kevin O’Connell don’t say no
The Vikings general manager told reporters Thursday that Darnold is among the “good options”
Looks to me they want Sam back

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero believes the "smart money" is still on Sam Darnold returning to Minnesota this offseason, whether via the franchise tag or a multi-year contract.
"I would still say that the smart money would be on Sam Darnold being back in Minnesota," Pelissero said on KFAN radio on Thursday. "And if anything, what happened in those last two games might make it simpler to get him back."
DH11 wrote:
I just think he looks kind of weird. They list him at 219 but it’s obvious he only goes about 180 maybe 190 tops and they said on Kfan the other day he’s lost a lot of weight. It was shocking how skinny he looks in the locker room they said. Why is that he should be working out with his upper body.
Something isn’t right with him obviously.
And by the way, why are they putting this out there?! It is for a reason and I think I know why I’m hearing he looked like absolute shit in practice before he got hurt.
My guess is they know they fucked up drafting him and now they know they have to bring Sam back.
The media put it out there because someone in the Vikings organization told them that don’t be so obtuse
