Done with Darnold
Re-sign Daniel Jones for 1-yr 10 million and have him and JJ McCarthy compete next year.
Darnold can make some spectacular plays against zone coverage, but he is a "need to see it open" QB. Tight man coverage makes him hold the ball and take unnecessary sacks. Biggest difference tonight is Stafford was getting the ball out on the face of the rush. Darnold just holds it and takes sacks.
Get the comp pick and let's roll with our future.

Right, I was referring to his free agency value.
I would be very careful about getting rid of Darnold so quickly keep in mind JJ McCarthy was merely a caretaker at Michigan (Let’s be honest, he was along for the ride) whose team was always up 20-3 after the first quarter that is certainly not gonna be the case in the NFL. I thought in the national championship game it was clear the head coach did not trust him to pass.
I’m not sold one bit on JJ McCarthy and I don’t think the Vikings are either remember they tried to trade for Justin Herbert and then tried to trade up with New England. If they were in love with JJ McCarthy they would NOT have done either of those things

I never said I was out on KOC. He’s a young guy, but he needs to improve his in game adjustments. I’m not one bit sold on JJ McCarthy. He was merely along for the ride at Michigan.

Coming right after Sam shit his drawers in the two biggest games and declaring that JJM sucks let's keep Sam is maybe the worst, weakest take anyone has put up here in the last year, then you keep posting it over and over.

Im fine with it? I said play nice and noted that its just an opposing view point from a new poster, one that is echoed by existing posters. He hasnt broken any board rules although some trying to diminish his posts certainly push the boundary.

It's been two days and I still can't believe what a tailspin Sam went into. I'm sure all of these QBs have their idiosyncrasies that teams cater too but man, whichever team is paying Sam next year better make sure his head's on right. Our very adept (IMO) coaches couldn't do it. At least not in the span of a week.
I know a lot of our own fan base was waiting for the other shoe to drop all year and it happened. Now imagine the fans next year! Team could be 17-0 and everyone will be expecting him to lay an egg. Going to be wild. I don't think this is the case, but there's a nonzero chance he's just done. Like Rick Ankiel or something.
One last thing-- The Vikings weren't able to provide run support when it mattered that we could fall back on if Sam was off. Whoever signs him would be wise to budget for a run game as well.
