Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a high ankle sprain that the Kansas City Chiefs "don't think bad," a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

The diagnosis was revealed through testing done Monday. The Chiefs will evaluate Mahomes through the week to determine if he has a chance to play Saturday against the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs then will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, completing a stretch of three games in 11 days.

I guess we get to see Carson Wentz. I'm sure Mahomes will return just in time for the playoffs and make everyone forget (again) how less than awesome they've been all year.

We have seen this before for Mahomes, he'll be back

They are 12-1 and have the best player in the NFL.

Is he really the best player in the NFL this year? He ranks 2nd in the NFL in missed yardage. Darnold has three games where his passer rating fell below 100. Mahomes has three games where his passer rating was above 100. Among QBs he ranks 18th in passer rating. Only Winston, Levis, Baker, Kirk and Geno have thrown more interceptions. Chiefs are winning this year with defense.

But as I've said, I'm sure he'll come alive in the playoffs again and make everyone forget his regular season.

He sure looked like it Sunday afternoon. That was damned impressive. But even he will throw up a stinker every now and then.

Considering he is a first ballot hall of famer already. No other QB outside of Rodgers can say that.

Remember the early accuracy issues with Josh Allen? Many of us laughed when Diggs was traded to Buffalo because Allen at the time had difficulty hitting the broad side of a barn. Guess he fixed that...

I don't care if he's a part-time pagan god, he's not having a very good year. Will he come alive again for the playoffs? Probably. But I don't think they get past the Bills this year. JMO. JMFNO

Maybe Taylor Swift's boyfriend can get an extended vacation this offseason if KC falters.

2 things ya can't get around in the NFL, injuries and fatigue.

Since 2019 KC has played 18 playoff games, that's an extra season of wear.

Just sayin' it's gonna catch up to them.

Let me know when Allen can beat Mahomes in the playoffs and then we will talk.
